Politicians should always stick to the truth and the whole truth. Today's Maldivians are far more educated, informed, and connected than they were a decade ago. The public can no longer be misled by half-truths, selective facts, or carefully twisted narratives.
Any short-term political gain achieved through misleading information is rarely worth the long-term damage to credibility, trust, and public confidence. Once trust is lost, it is far harder to regain than any temporary advantage is worth.
