Another line from @City_Press this morning:
"...Others said the corruption allegations cut across factions and all sides were implicated, including President Cyril Ramaphosa’s backers, 'and therefore no action will be taken'."
That's precisely what I'm waiting to see.
Bono's net worth is around $700 million and he moved his business affairs to the Netherlands a decade ago to avoid paying tax. Not sure he's the best poster boy for this anti-capitalism crusade.
People burn public infrastructure all the time, and loyal taxpayers are expected to pay up to replace it. Why is there more of an outcry when loyal taxpayers say "Enough" than when schools and hospitals and libraries and traffic lights etc are destroyed?
Take a moment to appreciate this: If true, Dudu Myeni got R300,000/month from Bosasa. Despite this, and God knows what other "patronage", the Zuma Foundation still went bankrupt. Only the ANC can actually bankrupt corruption itself. Amazing. https://t.co/TkwPSeu27r
Just done an interview with @ewnupdates The interviewer didn't seem to understand that the entire point of a #Taxrevolt is to get effective action on corruption: prosecution, conviction, jail. What else has worked? How else can we stop the theft of money meant for the poor.
Important questions: if a majority of voters are happy to vote for criminals, wouldn't paying them more money to steal amount to aiding and abetting crime? I'm genuinely interested. ANC is hardly a political party. It behaves like a criminal syndicate.
Dear @TwitterSupport, please investigate and act on @AngeloAgrizzi, a fake account created by someone with a spelling problem to create fake news and defame people. This kind of thing will destroy the Twitter platform and business model, unless you clamp down swiftly.
Much of my reading over the next few months will be filled with case studies of successful tax revolts, internationally, and the lessons we can learn from them.
Did you know that, in the 21st Century, there have been over 80 case studies of impactful tax revolts. More than double that in the 20th C. But given that we are only in first fifth of this Century, the trend is clearly escalating because it introduces ACCOUNTABILITY in govt.
#Bosasa CEO Gavin Watson consistently visited former president Jacob Zuma, influenced his appointments of government and Hawks officials

Please @CyrilRamaphosa, we’ve been patient for action against blatant corruption for many years now. @PresJGZuma removed Gordhan on the whim of a fictitious security report. On Nomvula & others, you have evidence and facts. You need not wait. Oh, there’s a election ahead...
