Unpopular opinion.
Barry Humphries was an extremely clever and funny man who made a living by mostly punching down on people who didn’t have any of his wealth of privilege and couldn’t fight back.
Parts of his comedy were okay considering the less-enlightened times he lived in and it’s also thought wrong to criticise the dead but even allowing for those two caveats, the hero-worship of him today and the literal white-washing of the many dubious and damaging things he did to others is pretty nauseating.
Let the abuse commence.
Oi. My sister runs a street kitchen in Martin Place where they give rough sleepers a feed twice a week. ALL she asks is that you follow their Insta. Maybe also give this an RT. They do good work, who are you to refuse??!? https://t.co/GN4Txur7uC
Now that the coalition doesn’t govern anywhere on the mainland time to accept that people care about climate change and they will never flirt with right wing religious zealots and their awful discriminatory prejudices.
Woke up this morning to find that the new prime minister of Australia had quoted my lyrics in his first press conference: “Just because you’re going forwards, doesn’t mean I’m going backwards”. Here’s my response to that welcome news.
ABC, you've broadcast footage of the Prime Minister saying he hasn't been to Hillsong church for 15 years
Are you going to challenge the lie you are spreading?
There's plenty of footage showing Morrison at Hillsong many times in that period

Reminder. The amazing blokes who helped literally carry people out of an aged care home in Lismore, were Fijian. Not Pentecostal, Nationals, One Nation, or Barnaby Joyce’s family. #LismoreFloods
Australians; please don't forget that this time 2 years ago we had people huddled on a beach to protect themselves from fire and our PM was hosting a BBQ and watching fireworks. Don't forget the victims and sure as hell don't forget what our PM was doing.
