Eid al-Adha is a celebration of sacrifice and generosity. Across the world, Muslim families gather to offer Qurbani meat donations to their neighbors, demonstrating religious devotion while celebrating the bonds that hold communities together. But for millions across Lebanon and Palestine this year, the holiday arrives in the shadow of violence, displacement and deepening hunger.
This Eid, your gift will be matched, up to $25,000 by a generous group of donors, to bring relief, dignity and a sense of normalcy to families who need it most.

Anera recently launched the Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) training program, in the presence of the Minister of Public Health, Dr. Rakan Nassereddine.
Nine doctors from the emergency and intensive care departments at Rafik Hariri University Hospital, Baabda Governmental Hospital, and Sibline Governmental Hospital are undergoing training to introduce POCUS technology to patients.
POCUS technology is a qualitative tool that allows for the rapid detection of life-threatening conditions, reducing the time required for medical intervention in emergency and trauma cases, especially during times of sudden influx or high pressure.
This initiative is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Public Health (@mophleb), Anera, MedGlobal (@medglobalorg), and Mehad (@mehad_fr), advancing the integration of POCUS within Lebanon’s emergency care system.
Caring for a child recovering from injury or illness is always emotional. In Gaza, many parents face added fear and helplessness as the healthcare system is depleted and aid remains limited. One mother, Islam, shares what it has been like to care for her 14-year-old daughter after an appendix rupture. “I didn’t know how I could take care of her in this tent,” she says. “The sand gets everywhere. I was terrified I would hurt her.” Visit our website to learn how Anera, with support from @Tearfund, helped provide relief for Tala and her family. Read more: https://t.co/jgPF3Bf6qb

@scarrolldc, President and CEO of Anera, reports from a technical and vocational school in Dekweneh, now serving as a collective shelter, where trainees from the Learning to Earning program by @UNICEFLebanon, implemented by Anera, are preparing daily hot meals for displaced families living in the shelter.
While meeting urgent needs on the ground, they are also building skills and earning an income through hands-on work.
At the Bethlehem Arab Society for Rehabilitation in the West Bank, Anera delivered essential medicines to support surgeries, emergency care and patient treatment through a partnership with @DirectRelief.
With this support, Anera provided more than 17,000 medical treatments across the West Bank, including 5,400 treatments for patients at the Bethlehem Arab Society for Rehabilitation Hospital.
As healthcare systems across Palestine continue to face growing pressure, these deliveries help hospitals continue providing care for patients in urgent need.

With support from @worldfedaid and the Imam Hasan Foundation, Anera was able to distribute gifts during Eid to 730 orphaned children in Gaza. During difficult times, it’s small moments like these that bring hope and foster connection.
Displacement, violence and hunger haven’t ended in Palestine and Lebanon. But you can help. Right now all donations to Anera will matched. $25 becomes $50, which can provide hot meals for 10 people in Gaza.

Since 2023, the war and ongoing escalation in Lebanon have displaced communities and directly disrupted the country’s agricultural system.
Agriculture, already strained by years of economic crisis, is now facing widespread damage across the South and the Bekaa, with ripple effects reaching farmers nationwide.

Imagine for a moment that you get your period in an overcrowded shelter.
If you were part of a mass displacement, you may find yourself in a makeshift space, where hundreds of people share a single toilet and privacy is nearly nonexistent.
Without access to basic menstrual products, you might be forced to use scraps of fabric or even pieces of tent material as makeshift pads, increasing the risk of infection.
Out of sheer stress, you may stop getting your period altogether, which can lead to hormonal imbalances that cause other issues for your body.
This is the reality for many women and girls in Gaza and Lebanon.

With support from @MuslimAidUSA, Anera is able to provide relief to families in Lebanon this Eid al-Adha. This comes at a time when continued violence and displacement have severely disrupted lives and impeded access to basic necessities. The 2,204 lbs. of meat provided by MAUSA and distributed by Anera's team will offer vital nourishment and a sense of dignity to families enduring this profound crisis.
When a person is evacuated from Gaza, their suffering is not left in Gaza. They arrive in Jordan after having lost everything, followed by the uncertainty forced by displacement. Read our latest story to learn more and to see how Anera provides ongoing support: https://t.co/OvbU4bNbR1
In Anera’s HIRE Project, implemented in partnership with FITE, young people are gaining practical training and access to real employment opportunities in Jordan’s hospitality and tourism sector.
The project supports 82 enrolled participants across four training tracks: Lifeguard, Housekeeping, Hospitality, and Front Desk Service. So far, 70 participants have already been connected to job opportunities before completing the program.
This program is part of Anera’s ongoing commitment to empower young people and improve job security across Jordan, Palestine and Lebanon. Learn more: https://t.co/7UomMsChxk
Rita, like many young women, loves coffee and shares a close bond with her sister. Alongside the everyday moments they enjoy together, the two also navigate the challenges of living with cystic fibrosis.
Amid ongoing conflict and a prolonged economic crisis in Lebanon, accessing essential medication can be difficult. Gaza’s agriculture sector is under immense strain. Anera's recent assessment highlights where recovery can begin. In accessible areas, some farmers continue to produce, supported by a small number of functioning nurseries supplying seedlings. Local markets retain limited agricultural inputs and small-scale production persists despite the challenges. These pockets of activity point to a critical opportunity: with targeted support, parts of the system can be brought back into operation. While bombs fall and drones hover overhead, first responders don’t stop. With support from Anera, firetrucks in Lebanon can continue to respond to emergencies.
These particular firetrucks lacked the resources needed for maintenance and had developed several mechanical issues. In response, our team carried out full mechanical maintenance on the trucks, including repairs to the water pumps. These vehicles are now back in service and fully operational.
In addition to routine emergency response, the firetrucks will provide water to 10 collective shelters on an as-needed basis.

Youth in Baalbek are building practical agricultural skills through greenhouse farming and primary production training, learning how to cultivate and maintain vegetables under favorable growing conditions.
Through @UNICEFLebanon’s Learning to Earning program implemented by Anera, 18 students received hands-on training in soil preparation, seed science, plant propagation and field crop cultivation, helping strengthen their skills in sustainable food production and future livelihoods.
When crisis hits, violence against women and girls often rises behind closed doors. For many girls, that includes the risk of forced marriage — taking away their safety, education, and future.
Through the “Sawa” project, implemented by Anera, communities in Akkar, North Lebanon are challenging these harmful practices head-on. The project trains influential men in the community to lead conversations with other men about gender based violence, with a primary focus on the long-term impact of forced early and child marriage.
By opening dialogue and raising awareness, these efforts help protect vulnerable girls and drive real change within communities.
