NATIONAL INDIGENOUS PEOPLES DAY
We are so proud & impressed by the amazing work of #AbFriendshipCentres to connect community members with #MotherEarth through green buildings, community gardens, medicine teachings & more. Check out celebrations at a Friendship Centre near you!
Last week brought the #FallEquinox, many of the #AbFriendshipCentres are busy this fall with harvest, hunting & preparing medicines & food for the coming winter. Fall is also an excellent time for prayer and rest as we experience the changing seasons. #ReconnectWithMotherEarth
As #wildfire smoke creeps in to Canada's western provinces, many of us are thinking about the cause of these fires and how they are related to #climatechange. Be sure to look out for one another and seek medical attention if you experience serious symptoms from smoke inhalation.

Many parts of Alberta have had extremely warm weather throughout August. To stay cool, try keeping blinds closed during the day, keep air conditioning filters clean and seal cracks in your home to keep warm air out.

The #PerseidMeteorShower is one of the most popular #meteorshowers where meteoroids originate from the constellation of Perseus. While the shower is most active from August 11-12, meteors are visible until August 24 with 50-100 meteoroids visible each hour.
Check out tonight's #fullmoon! Many call this month's full moon the "#SturgeonMoon" because this is the month when many fish, such as the Sturgeon, are ready to be harvested. What do you call this month's moon?

In March, @ANFCAgreen staff had the pleasure to host a booth and present at the Rise Up Take a Stand #youth conference in Edmonton. After months of self-isolation, it is so powerful to see #AbFriendshipCentre youth and our Elders again through this video and to hear their wisdom.
