There’s a real shift happening in black comics and we’re proud to be part of it.
More black creators are speaking up, thinking independently, building on their own terms, and refusing to be boxed in by political manipulation, performative agendas, or hive-mind gatekeeping. The culture is expanding beyond approval seeking and becoming creator-driven again.
At the end of the day, “black comic creator” should mean exactly what it says: BLACK people MAKING COMICS. Different voices. Different perspectives. Different visions. United by the work, the creativity, and the passion for the medium.
In issue #7 of The Antagonists, we find out that “The American” isn’t another Homelander or evil Superman. We find him to be a true Patriot wanting to unite people of many backgrounds. Hoping to push the country forward through community and acts of service.
@jpalmiotti Then after the movie was over, I went and found myself a pair of boots in the mall bought them because I was so enamored with the idea of having boots because of the movie. And then I went back and watched the movie a second time.
@jpalmiotti I was 14 when this movie came out and I just started making my own money for myself. I remember taking the city bus to the mall, and taking myself to this movie.
Not doing many cons this year due to my workload. But I will be at @baltimorecomics convention in September. The art yearbook will be celebrating Erik Larsen’s Savage Dragon, I whipped up my contribution immediately! And Annalisa Leoni colored it up! See you in a few months, Baltimore!
