Foster children get more time in lockup for not having a home to be placed in than Kim Potter got today for murdering Daunte Wright. Remember that the carceral system only works for itself, and we should never depend on it to save us.
serving the students & families of Minneapolis, along side my brilliant & inspiring colleagues, has been the greatest honor of my life. i know i am not alone in this thinking.
plz take a moment today to email, text, or call ur child's teacher. let them know u support a YES vote.
If you're unable to donate, please point me in the right direction for rental assistance programs in Georgia. She's already tried a few of them, and she's been denied.
I'm currently raising funds for a Black disabled foster girl that has until January 5th to raise $700 for late rent, or else she will be facing an eviction process.

Like every system in this country, the most vulnerable people have always been pushed aside, abused, and neglected. In this case, Mary Ellen was not the only victim. Mary Ellen Wilson was stolen from her mother by the system, and her mother's only crime was being poor in America.
The outrage from Mary's case laid the groundwork for the creation of the New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. Although it exactly mirrored the @ASPCA, it was one of the only societies that advocated for the welfare of children.
