Our Party Leader H.E Martha Karua was in court today concerning the case of Tanzanian activist Twaha Salim Mwaipaya.
As a Party, PLP welcomes the ruling by Hon. Justice Muteti directing the Inspector General of Police to account for his whereabouts.
We reaffirm our commitment to the rule of law, human rights and the safety of all persons on Kenyan soil. We stand against abductions and enforced disappearances in all forms.

I rushed to court this morning after my earlier engagement at Aga Khan University to attend to the pressing matter concerning Tanzanian activist Twaha Salim Mwaipaya.
The danger with injustice is that, if we allow it to happen often enough, we begin to accept it as normal. We must never get so used to abductions that we stop asking questions. Today it is Twaha; tomorrow, it could be any one of us. No one is safe when the rule of law is treated as optional.
Rest in Peace baba, ulitubu kabla ya kifo chako.
Msitutanie, tumesha change plan Kama mnabisha chill and watch.
HATUOGOPI na tulichoanza tutakimaliza at any cost. I’m still Tanganyikan Mwenye uchungu na nchi Yangu na Hakuna kitakachonitisha as I know,
Free TWAHA MWAIPAYA, FREE LISSU
The entire world should not watch as the Tanzanian dictator Samia Suluhu and the Tanzanian courts plan to convict Tundu Lissu with treason charges based purely on speculation. It’s in its final stages and he could get hanged if convicted. Free Tundu Lissu!!!!!!
Tanzania’s Tundu Lissu deserves the Sakharov Prize.
Facing a possible death sentence amid concerns over the fairness of his trial, the Tanzanian opposition leader remains a courageous symbol of the fight for democracy, human rights and the rule of law.

Tarehe 29 October 2026 we need to send a message duniani kote kuwa Tanzania has NOT HEALED and JUSTICE HAS NOT BEEN SERVED na kwamba bado tunatekwa, bado tunapewa kesi za uhaini na bado tunashikiliwa kwa bunduki na serikali haram.
Tupange kuwa October 29 2026 saa 12 jioni (muda unaweza badilishwa) Watanzania woote duniani kote tukutane kwenye balozi zetu tukiwa na mabango.
Nikimwangaliaga huyu baba huwa najikuta nalia tu…….
Kwanini mtu ateseke hivi kisa watu wachache waweze kuinyonya nchi?
How come 70million people tunashindwa kumsaidia Lissu.?
Inauma mpaka kwenye maini….
To the State of Palestine: If you choose to align yourselves with those responsible for the atrocities committed in Tanzania, people who have no moral standing to lecture others about peace or the humanitarian rights of the people of Gaza, you risk losing the support of many people around the world.
How can you claim to be victims of injustice while aligning yourselves with those who victimize others?
The man you see here, Deo Ndejebi, is not a legitimate Vice President of Tanzania. His government came to power amid widespread violence following the October 29, 2025 election, including killings of over 10,000 Tanzanians during a 5 days period with the internet shut down. This man, Deo Ndejebi is only able to stand on that podium because he and his party murdered their own people.
The same government continues to jail, abduct, sexually assault, and kill its critics.
You cannot speak credibly about peace and human rights in Gaza while turning a blind eye to the suffering and human-rights abuses alleged to have been committed against Tanzanians.

The EPP Group has nominated lawyer, human rights activist and politician Mr Tundu Lissu as a candidate for the Sakharov Prize.
After surviving a 2017 assassination attempt, Mr Lissu returned to Tanzania to continue advocating democratic reform, only to face arrest, treason charges and exclusion from the 2025 presidential election, while his party was barred from participating.
His case reflects the wider erosion of democratic pluralism and political competition in Tanzania.
For the EPP Group, Mr Lissu represents a powerful combination of personal courage, democratic conviction and geopolitical relevance. His nomination affirms that Europe stands with those defending constitutional democracy and political freedom in Africa and in other partner countries of the EU. Mr Lissu embodies the defence of democracy, political pluralism, the rule of law and fundamental freedoms at extraordinary personal cost.
The Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought is the highest tribute paid by the European Union to human rights work.
