Two of these five who got designated by the Supreme Court in April 2015 have become judges. Mohana and I also became advocates on record together in 1996 and got chambers allotted in 2024. Delhi and the Supreme Court have been kind to me. When we started in the early 1990s, I for one did not know how long I would last out. Here's hoping for many more years of lawyering away.

Judiciary aspirants are currently living through a phase of deep frustration and endless patience. The Bihar civil judge pre exam, which was supposed to take place on June 3, has now been cancelled, while the review petition challenging the mandatory three-year practice rule is still awaiting a decision.

I genuinely feel the Supreme Court must come up with some solution soon. The last judiciary exam held in Bihar was in 2023, it has already been three years (there are other states too where no exam concluded), and aspirants continue to remain in uncertainty.
