@lanheechen Regardless, I’m grateful to all the alumni who gave input and support over the past few months. I truly appreciated the opportunity to hear from you all.
I’m sad to say that the HAA election didn’t work out as I had hoped. Of course the result is disappointing and frustrating, but maybe the most sad aspect is that I’m not shocked…
@lanheechen Even though we’re the minority voice, including that voice in the conversation shines light on the blind spots in an echo chamber. This is the way to achieve improvements from within; this is how we seek truth.

viewpoint diversity + civil discourse = political depolarization
Harvard Economist @Dr_RolandFryer on how we depolarize: “Celebrate our common humanity & sit with people to understand their views...they’re not as far from you as you might imagine.” @WSJ

Thanks @TheFIREorg for covering the “why” & “how” to build balance at Harvard! I draw inspiration from the deep friendship bw Justices Ginsburg and Scalia—both former Harvard Law students—who showed how respect can flourish despite ideological differences. https://t.co/ayhvzV8HsB

Often a minority in terms of race, religion, & politics, I deeply understand the value of encouraging diverse perspectives. Through the Harvard Alumni Assoc, I hope to help reinvigorate this value and ensure Harvard remains a beacon of academic excellence! https://t.co/N5LQKQDSHp
Diversity is at the heart of the American experiment and the heart of my home. It belongs at Harvard too—in all glorious, varied, sometimes tricky, and authentic forms.
