The work continues and I am ready to keep moving forward with you.
Today, I received my Deputy, @drobafemihamzat , as he formally shared his intention to run for Governor of Lagos State.
We have worked closely for over 21 years and I know his strength, his capabilities and his steady commitment to the people of Lagos.
Femi’s understanding of governance and the socio-economic development of the State as nurtured by our leader, HE President Bola Tinubu, makes him, undoubtedly the best man for the job.
Lagos is too important to be left for experimenting. I, therefore have no doubt that with his values, he will continue to work tirelessly to make our state greater.
We have received a new set of 24-car trains to strengthen the Lagos Red Line fleet.

We signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Estar, an organisation with digital learning expertise to bring modern digital learning platforms and infrastructure into our public primary and secondary schools.
This partnership will give our students access to curriculum-based tools that support critical thinking, communication, decision-making, leadership, and AI skills. It will also strengthen reading, comprehension, confidence, and classroom participation.
We are investing in the training of our teachers so they can use these tools effectively and deliver more engaging lessons, with a clear focus on preparing our students for the future and improving learning outcomes across the board.
Today, I formally inaugurated the Board of the Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission at Lagos House, Ikeja.
This commission will oversee and regulate the electricity market within Lagos State. It follows the Lagos State Electricity Law 2024, which was signed last year to give our state a stronger role in how power is managed and delivered.
LASERC will license electricity providers, set fair tariffs, protect consumers, and help grow a more reliable and competitive energy market in Lagos. It will also support innovation, including renewable energy and more efficient power systems.
This is an important step in strengthening how electricity is regulated in our state. With this board, we are focused on building a power sector that works better for residents, businesses, and the future of Lagos.

With profound gratitude and humility, I am deeply honoured by the overwhelming trust and confidence reposed in me through my re-election as Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Lagos State.
I want to personally congratulate Olatunji Disu on his appointment as Acting Inspector-General of Police by HE President Bola Tinubu.
This appointment is well deserved. AIG Tunji Disu has put in over three decades of solid and consistent work in the Nigeria Police Force. He has earned this moment through professionalism, discipline, and proven results.
In Lagos, we saw his leadership up close, especially during his time as Commander of the Rapid Response Squad. He understood the streets and the people, and he approached the job with focus and courage.
I am confident he will bring that same clarity of purpose to this new role. Nigeria needs a police force that is accountable and effective, and I believe he has the experience and strength of character to lead that effort.
Congratulations once again. Lagos is proud.

Today, I received the leadership of the Association of Lagos State Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries, led by Otunba Nurudeen Ojora Adejiyan and Mrs. Dr. Abeke Taire.
In Lagos, public service does not end when someone leaves office. These are men and women who gave their best years to our state, and they deserve respect and dignity in retirement.
One thing I am particularly proud of is that Lagos continues to meet its obligations to our retirees. We remain consistent and timely with pension payments because it is the right thing to do. After serving the state faithfully, no one should have to worry about when their pension will be paid. That responsibility rests with us and we take it seriously.
There is always more to improve, but our direction is clear. In Lagos, we honour those who have served.
I warmly congratulate Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, on being named Person of the Year 2025 at the 18th Leadership Newspapers Annual Conference and Awards.
This recognition is well deserved. It reflects her steady commitment to service and her consistent support for women, young people, and communities across our nation.
I celebrate this achievement and wish her continued strength and success in the work ahead.
