Thank you for the sacrifices you make, the challenges you navigate, and the care you show every day. Most importantly, thank you for keeping our passengers, our crews, and each other safe.
May 25, 1979, AA191, a DC-10 operating from Chicago to Los Angeles, crashed upon takeoff. Ten Flight Attendants, three Pilots, 258 passengers, and two people on the ground perished.
Today, we pause to remember those lost.
"Past evacuation incidents reinforce what we have learned from real-world experience: Flight Attendants, stationed in the right locations, help passengers survive when their lives depend on it.
Appropriate crew staffing is not a luxury; it is a life-saving necessity."
NEWS: @SenatorBaldwin and I are calling on the FAA to review how reduced crew size with certain airlines is impacting evacuation standards.
In other words, you deserve to know how less flight attendants impacts your safety if disaster strikes.
We're demanding answers.
Standing with our LIRR Union Siblings at @BLET@Teamsters! The Teamsters represent over 500 locomotive engineers at the railroad. They have gone three years without raises throughout the bargaining process for a new contract.
Long Island Rail Road trains don’t move without Teamsters locomotive engineers. 🐴💪
Rail Teamsters from the @BLET are on strike for a fair contract at Long Island Rail Road and picketing major terminals at New York Penn Station, Ronkonkoma, and Jamaica.
Rail Teamsters from the @BLET and their union coalition remain on strike at the MTA-owned Long Island Rail Road.
After more than three years with no raises, LIRR’s union workers, including 500 Teamsters locomotive engineers, will not make any more sacrifices to cover for the MTA’s mismanagement.
It's time to give our members the fair deal they deserve.
Thank you, @SenDuckworth and @SenatorBaldwin, for your advocacy. @AmericanAir had a clear opportunity to lead the industry by prioritizing safety and setting a higher standard than our competitors—instead, they chose to pursue cost-cutting at the expense of safety.
"Not a luxury; it is life-saving necessity"
@CBSNews Exclusive: Senators demand FAA look into minimum staffing rules allowing fewer flight attendants than exit doors on some airliners.
They also seek an update on overdue evacuation testing.

Wishing you a Happy Mother’s Day—wherever you are in the world, and however you are spending your time today. Whether in the air, on a layover, or at home, your care, effort, and presence matter.
Whichever airlines hire Spirit Flight Attendants will be the luckiest airlines in the world. Aviation’s first responders from Spirit are among the best Flight Attendants and people I know. Amazing people. Amazing Flight Attendants. Forever Spirit.
.@FlyingWithSara sent a letter to DOT Sec. Sean Duffy and Acting Sec. of Labor Keith Sonderling laying out clear demands and actions needed to protect Spirit workers: "Spirit Flight Attendants are not just some asset to be written off in this process."
