Thank you to everyone who attended and spoke in the panel at the APPG on breast cancer yesterday. We discussed what the national cancer plan means for breast cancer, specifically focusing on early and prompt diagnosis and improving treatment and support.
Chair of the APPGBC, @CliveJonesMP, has written to drug companies @ASTRAZENECAUK and @DaiichiSankyoUK urging them to submit a new commercial offer to NICE for their drug Enhertu for HER2-low secondary breast cancer, to allow it to be made available to patients on the NHS
Thank you to all the MPs who joined us in parliament this week to hear about our new report and #MoreTimeToLive campaign calling for everyone with secondary breast cancer to have access to the treatments they need. Join the campaign here:

We had a very busy day in parliament yesterday talking about #Enhertu. It kicked off with our chief exec @delythjmorgan speaking at a @CommonsHealth Future Cancer Inquiry session on how NICE evaluates drugs.
You can watch the session in full here 👇

"To have it on the shelf and you just can't reach - it's heart breaking." - @BrineMP sums up the frustration of knowing #Enhertu exists, but can't be accessed by the women who could benefit from it.
"Creating memories for loved ones and having hope for the future."
Our chief exec @delythjmorgan tells @commonshealth what access to #Enhertu could mean for women with incurable HER2-low secondary breast cancer.
In @UKParliament today asked @PennyMordaunt about getting approval for the drug #Enhertu following its recent rejection by NICE.
Campaigners Hannah, Helen & @nadiasawalha came to see me on this issue earlier in week & with @BreastCancerNow we will keep up the pressure!
We can save women's lives from breast cancer and save the NHS money by improving breast screening uptake.
There is no time to waste on this - and that's what I learnt at the BREAST CANCER NOW Parliamentary drop-in.

Grateful to @BreastCancerNow for briefing MPs on their #notimetowaste campaign to improve breast screening uptake. The Aylesbury and Wycombe breast screening unit is outperforming the national average on screening uptake, but always room for improvement to save women’s lives.
Breast screening saves lives but the take up rate in our local area is far too low - just 55.2% of all eligible women & 46.9% of women invited for the first time
I was glad to join @BreastCancerNow in Parliament today
Please attend your breast screening appointment when invited
I’m proud to support @BreastCancerNow and their campaign for breast screening awareness.
There is #NoTimeToWaste - we must urgently improve the uptake of breast screenings which help to save an estimated 1,300 lives every year.
I back @BreastCancerNow’s breast screening awareness campaign.
An estimated 1,300 lives from breast cancer could be saved every year in the UK through screening.
There is #NoTimeToWaste - we need to improve the uptake of breast screenings.
📢New research!📢
We find that #breastcancer will cost the UK an alarming £2.8bn in 2024.❗️
Our report, supported by @BreastCancerNow, sets out how government and policymakers must safeguard Britain against the crippling human and financial burden of the disease.

Delighted to support @BreastCancerNow, on #WearItPink day.
On average, 94 people a week are diagnosed with breast cancer. By raising awareness, we can drive forward life-changing research, and support those living with breast cancer across Scotland and the rest of the UK.
