Thanks to all those who attended the launch of my 100 Days Report setting out what I have done in my first months in the role and what I plan to do https://t.co/TSNPEpy7T3 #patientvoice
We are encouraged to hear the @PSCommissioner lay out her plan to "hold the government to account
for financial redress for all harmed patients and families identified in FDNH."

What people want is for medicine to be humanised, what we have is medicine that is industrialised - my message to the First Do No Harm APPG this morning @SarahGreenLD@natalieben@FeryalClark @EmmaHardyMP @SharonHodgson
@Emma4facs and @JanetWilliams99 are true heroes. But they, and all the other women given this medication during pregnancy, deserve more than praise and MBEs. They deserve compensation to help their families. https://t.co/AfwUsHVasH
Baroness Julia Cumberlege wrote a report in July 2020 looking at two drugs and a medical device which caused women or their babies harm. What progress does she think has been made since then in supporting those affected? She joins @Emmabarnett at 10am ⬇️
This morning at @CommonsHealth, we heard moving testimonies from @Emma4facs and @JanetWilliams99 about the impact of sodium valproate on people's lives.
Our session was following up on the Government’s response to the ‘First Do No Harm’ report from 2020.
APPG co-chair @JuliaCumberlege gave evidence to @CommonsHealth on the implementation of @IMMDSReview report. She gave an update on the progress implementing the report.
@JuliaCumberlege pointed to the welcome appointment of Dr Henrietta Hughes as the @PSCommissioner but stressed the need for her role to be sufficiently resourced in order that she is able to fulfil her role’s broad scope.
@JuliaCumberlege told @BrineMP that "some progress has been made… but it has been very slow and there hasn’t been nearly enough done because there are still 4 recommendations to be looked at and 2 have been rejected."
Julia Cumberlege says at @CommonsHealth of the evening publication of the update report on the Independent Medicines and Medical Devices Safety Review was a "disgrace".
"All this https://t.co/zpZDOQHFfK is not good enough in running our country and running our health service"
"We have no idea how many women are suffering from mesh complications ... it is a ticking time-bomb" @KathSansom tells @CommonsHealth
Says 2/3 of mesh complications also not logged as not mandatory for clinicians to log adverse effects #slingthemesh
