The Board of Trustees recognized the Americas High School baseball team for winning the 2025-26 UIL 2-5A District championship, as well as the 5A Bi-District, 5A Area, and 5A Regional Semifinal championships. The team had an outstanding season, finishing with an overall record of 30-13 and a district record of 11-1. They finished the year ranked 8th in the state and were voted El Paso Times Team of the Year. Congratulations, Trailblazers!

The Board of Trustees honored high school students who qualified for the prestigious, visual arts, scholastic event, state competition, this event, honors, outstanding achievements, and the visual arts and promotes fine arts programs that set a standard of excellence for high school students. Congratulations to these talented artists!

The Board of Trustees recognized students selected for the 2026 UIL State One-Act Play Honor Crew. This elite group of consists of student technicians and theater ambassadors from across Texas who assisted with the production and execution of the state meet. Congratulations to these talented crew members and their teachers!

The Board of Trustees recognized the Eastlake High School softball team for winning the 2025–26 UIL 6A Bi-District softball championship. Several players received numerous accolades. Additionally, Pam Garcia was honored as Assistant Coach of the Year and Ara Corbett was named the 1-6A Co-Coach of the Year. Congratulations, Falcons!

The Board of Trustees honored the Socorro High School softball team for winning the 2025-26 UIL 1-6A District and a 6A Bi-District softball championships! The team had a remarkable season, finishing with an overall record of 31–4–1 and an undefeated district record of 12–0. This achievement marks their second consecutive 6A district championship and their first ever 6A Bi-District title. Congratulations, Bulldogs!

Congratulations to Isabelle Leon, a Class of 2026 graduate valedictorian from Pebble Hills High School, for leading the Pledge of Allegiance at today's board meeting. The Board of Trustred honored middle school students who have earned the Platinum Award, the highest honor at the Regional Junior Visual Arts Scholastic Event sponsored by the Texas Art Education Association. This award is given to the top 10% of artworks that receive a perfect rating of four. Congratulations to these amazing artists!

Today, Superintendent James P. Vasquez delivered the State of the District address, outlining #TeamSISD’s current standing and path forward. He reflected on Socorro ISD’s progress over the past two years, celebrated student success, and recognized the people who have helped move the district forward, alongside an update from TEA Conservator Dr. Michael Hinojosa. As #TeamSISD is handed the pen again, it does so not to erase the past, but to move forward with purpose, with students remaining at the heart of every decision.

As this school year comes to a close, we want to thank our students, families, and staff for the heart, effort, and resilience you’ve poured into every day. This moment means everything especially as we celebrate our seniors. We are so proud of you and deeply grateful to have been part of your story.
