This morning, we lost one of our very finest when Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Michael Pahira died in the line of duty in Schuylkill County.
I just left Lehigh Valley Hospital – Schuylkill where I spent time with Mike's parents, Patti and Mike, his sister, Jen, and some of his friends and fellow troopers. They told me about Mike — about how great a man he was, about his high school wrestling record, his love of cooking, and his commitment to caring for his mother as she battles cancer.
Trooper Pahira was the very best of us — Lori and I are praying for the @PAStatePolice family and our local law enforcement partners after losing another one of their own.
I’ve directed flags across the Commonwealth to be lowered to half-staff in honor of Trooper Pahira.
May his memory forever be a blessing.
Update from @GovernorShapiro on the budget:
I introduced my budget 147 days ago. The House passed theirs 77 days ago, the Senate has only come to work 24 days. And on the day they should be sending a budget to my desk, they decided to go home on vacation. I think it's disrespectful to the people of Pennsylvania.
They [Senate Republicans] should be here and they should be working. We should work through this and finish the job together, and instead, they ran away.
Dangerous heat is coming to Pennsylvania — with temperatures expected to be over 100 degrees throughout the rest of this week and weekend.
As we gear up for a busy weekend, please stay hydrated, stay indoors as much as you can, check on your neighbors, and follow @PEMAHQ for updates on heat advisories in your area.
It's amazing how upset some people become over inclusion and having respect for someone else's humanity - glad Gov. Shapiro is at the helm here in PA 🏳️🌈
I want every LGBTQ+ Pennsylvanian to know that you are welcome here. And I will stand up to anyone who tries to get in the way of your right to marry who you love and be who you are.
On the final day of Pride Month, I want you to know that I’m committed to making Pennsylvania a warm and welcoming place for all.
BREAKING: We just sued the Trump Administration for trying to rip away Medicaid from Pennsylvanians who need it most.
Donald Trump, Dr. Oz, and RFK Jr. are hellbent on trying to push aside people who rely on Medicaid to get the care they need.
But here in Pennsylvania, we’re going to keep standing up to protect our most vulnerable Pennsylvanians.
Hot week ahead! 🥵 If you’re heading outside to work, exercise, or hang out:
• Try to avoid activities during the hottest times of day
• Plan early morning or late evening workouts
• Take it easy and pace yourself
• Drink plenty of water
• Know the warning signs of heat-related illness
Donald Trump’s failed economic policies have raised prices across the board and made everyday life harder for Pennsylvanians. And he literally doesn’t care.
We cannot just throw up our hands and blame others when folks are struggling.
That’s why we’ve brought Democrats and Republicans together to cut taxes SEVEN times under my Administration.
Because we refuse to stand by and let Donald Trump unravel all of the progress we’ve made.
Breaking news: The Supreme Court upheld a Mississippi law that allows officials to tally mail-in ballots postmarked by Election Day that arrive later, a decision that keeps voting procedures in place in several states as the midterm elections loom. https://t.co/QiYz3IecYn
"@GovernorShapiro gets it. He wants developers of data centers to bring their own power generation to the grid, pay for the energy they use, hire and train local workers, and to follow environmental protection guidelines." – Susan, from Washington, PA

June 17: If I didn't agree to the MOU, we "would run out of reserves at about 4 weeks...we would really run out, and there'll be a time when you wouldn't be able to get it."
