Trust is the foundation of effective governance, and rebuilding it must begin with delivering on the needs of our people.
Today, I had the opportunity to address the Nairobi Dialogue on Global Trust. The Trust Summit, where I emphasised the urgent need to restore the social contract between governments and citizens through transparency, accountability, respect for human rights and improved public service delivery.
Africa has enormous potential, with US$4 trillion in domestic capital and a growing youth population. Unlocking this potential requires strong institutions, responsible leadership and renewed trust in our governance systems.
Our success will not be measured by the conversations we have, but by the concrete actions we take beyond this Summit.

Before asking whom we trust, @Uwihanganye_A turned the question inward at The Trust Summit: am I trusted myself? Trust, he argued, is a decision we keep earning through promises kept, one leader at a time.

I was pleased to receive the Interim Chief Executive Officer of the African Credit Rating Agency (@AfCRA_Official) during a courtesy visit to the @APRMorg offices, following the successful launch of the Agency in Mauritius on 7 October 2026.

@_AfricanUnion Thank you for your support throughout this journey my dear good sister DCP. Your steadfast leadership and strong sense of collaboration continues to strengthen our institutions.
When I joined the @APRMorg in 2024, I was entrusted with a challenging mandate: to help operationalise the Africa Credit Rating Agency (AfCRA). Today, standing before distinguished leaders, partners, and friends of Africa, I was proud to say: we delivered.
This journey was never about creating another institution. It was about ensuring that Africa has the capacity to assess its own economic realities with fairness, credibility, and independence.
I am deeply grateful to the APRM team, our Member States, strategic partners, and everyone who believed in this vision even when many thought it impossible.
The launch of #AfCRA is proof that when Africa works together with purpose and conviction, we can create solutions that serve our continent for generations to come.
AfCRA is now a Vision Delivered and a Promise Honoured.
