Today we say goodbye to the ARCHER national HPC service. EPCC's @lasatepcc looks back on seven successful years of supporting research, education, and public outreach. https://t.co/D12IqunmPV

ARCHER also helped to improve cloud modelling for better weather & climate prediction. The code developed by the @EPCCed@EdinburghUni@UnivOfStAndrews@UniversityLeeds research team is now used by atmospheric scientists around the UK: https://t.co/VlyEP2Fhdq

Most recently, ARCHER has supported researchers to develop computational simulations of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. This has helped to understand the virus & develop new drug targets for the treatment of #COVID19.

The centralised computing resource has supported many projects across scientific disciplines. Research from @EPCCed student, Xueping Gao, helped to monitor & predict climate change by simulating the movement of Greenland using glacier modeling software.

Today we say thank you and goodbye to @ARCHER_HPC – the UK’s national supercomputing service, based at @EPCCed. ARCHER has been helping the research community run simulations and calculations to solve big problems since 2013.
