May is Wildland Fire Training Month in Pope County! County Judge Ben Cross presented the official proclamation yesterday to attendees of the Arkansas River Valley Wildland Fire Academy in Russellville, recognizing their vital role in wildfire preparedness and response.

This week, we hosted a qualified prescribed burner training course at White Oak Lake State Park. The course equips landowners with the skills to plan and conduct prescribed burns safely and effectively — an essential tool for managing healthy forests and reducing wildfire risk.
This week, we are leading a hands-on bulldozer training at Camp Robinson. We’re proud to work with our partners to provide this essential training, strengthening our ability to respond to wildfires and protect communities across Arkansas.
