@tylerscott@ByJonWalker There’s only 2 ballparks; Charles Schwab and the Stormchasers. Creighton has a new practice field that supports practices Creighton baseball and the CWS.
@BigYapman75837@SoleofChuck I suspect you live somewhere on the East Coast and you believe Omaha is in “the middle of Nowhere”. Millions of people in the US think the same thing. So it is harder to secure applicants.
@BigYapman75837@SoleofChuck Your statement simply isn’t accurate. Again, student predominantly apply and attend schools within 150 miles of their residence. More populace areas have more applicants in those local institutions. Add to it fewer large, flagship schools relative to the pop means more apps.
@BigYapman75837@SoleofChuck This isn’t true in the Northeast. Entrance to Virginia, Penn, Penn State, NYU, Maryland, Rutgers, etc. is much more competitive, so these thousands are applying to more BE schools.
@BigYapman75837@SoleofChuck In most of the surrounding states if you graduate in the top 1/2 of your HS class you are automatically admitted to U of NE, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, K-State, Mizzou, and Dakotas.
@BigYapman75837@SoleofChuck Further, you look at the ratio of college seats at large, public, flagship universities, there are more seats regionally around Creighton than around G-Town, Villanova, etc.
@BigYapman75837@SoleofChuck About 80% of Creighton students come from outside that 150 mile radius. About 1/2 matriculate from more than 400 miles away. But this is not typical of other universities.
@BigYapman75837@SoleofChuck No I don’t. Everyone in college admissions knows that students typically choose to apply and attend schools within 150 miles of where they live.
@BigYapman75837@SoleofChuck Not necessarily. Part of the reason Creighton has fewer applicants is its location and the populations surrounding its location. Most students apply to schools within 150 miles of where they live. The population within 150 miles of Omaha is much smaller than other BE schools.
@BigYapman75837@SoleofChuck Don’t ignore the fact that you started this conversation saying “anyone can get into Creighton” and certainly inferring it’s a lousy school. I’m simply supplying you data that contradicts your statement.
@BigYapman75837@SoleofChuck Check out our Business placement rates compared to other BE schools. 98%+ for more than a decade. And our post graduation survey has one of the highest response rates.
@BigYapman75837@SoleofChuck Address the issue. You said anyone can get into Creighton and implied it’s a poor academic school. I show you data that contradicts that. You never said “health science schools” don’t count.
