According to my own attempt at the sums, Alistair Carmichael and the Lib Dems took 54.7% of the vote in #Orkney and #Shetland this time - a big jump up on 2019's 44.8% and 2017's 48.6%.
The closest competitor, the SNP took 17.2% of the vote today, dropping from 34% in 2019.
Robert Smith, who stood with Reform UK this time, took 7.6% of the vote. The highest percentage he has taken across the five general elections he has put himself forward as a candidate for, standing previously with parties such as UKIP and the Brexit Party.
Alistair Carmichael (Lib Dems) has retained his Westminster seat for Orkney and Shetland, taking 11,392 votes.
Second place candidate was the SNP's Robert Leslie with 3,585 votes.

Councillors agreed to this at full council this morning. #Scotland
