Just finished up a fun filled day presenting at the @MSUSciFest! We’ll be back again tomorrow (Sun) from 10am-4pm with some fun activities with lasers, polarizers and explaining quantum computing
Thanks very much to all of the excellent presenters and chairs from the @royalsociety “Diamond for Quantum Applications” meeting that’s just concluded, for an interesting program and two fantastic days discussing the current challenges and future outlook in this exciting field.
@patrickssalter @AKirkpatrickCDT @ShannonSNicley We're really so lucky that @AKirkpatrickCDT will join our team at @quod_lab. I'm sure there will be many opportunities for cool collaborations in the future!
Sorry to say goodbye to @AKirkpatrickCDT from the lab today. He did some fantastic work during his PhD and we had a lot of fun in the lab together. We wish him all the best for his post-doc at Michigan with @ShannonSNicley and @JonasNilsBecker
Fantastic talk by @AKirkpatrickCDT on laser writing of NV defects inside diamond, at the De Beers Diamond conference at Warwick @DopOxford@JasonandthePNG@DiamondCDT
Not my usual wheelhouse, but I've been working with #ceramics groups to help them characterise optical emissions during flash sintering of 3YSZ.
Check out our latest paper here:

Hosted @AKirkpatrickCDT today for an excellent talk on the Ultrafast laser fabrication of diamond quantum interfaces! @michiganstateu#diamond#quantum#ECR
Just about ready to jet off to Boston for #F21MRS. Be sure to check out my talk on Ultrafast Laser Writing of NVs in Diamond. Weds @ 10:30 ET. w/ @JasonandthePNG & @DopOxford
Check out our latest paper describing the processes that occur when a high intensity laser is focused into diamond. We show that lattice vacancies, a key component of many quantum technologies, form from the recombination of self-trapped biexcitonic states https://t.co/5pUj1AhBC3
Check out our latest preprint where we into the formation mechanisms of atomic scale defects in bulk diamond during femtosecond laser irradiation https://t.co/rd5fsHqQNy
Very high nonlinearities arise from non-linear light matter interactions and from the relaxation of biexitons
Want to find out what's happening here? Come along to room 213 @PhotonicsWest at 4.30pm today [11292-30] to learn about laser writing inside liquid crystal devices
Our new preprint is out! We explored the possibilities offered by z-STED to study the plasma membrane. I am very happy with the results! @Sciezgin@ProfMartinJBoo1@AgEggeling@uiztok https://t.co/OIcsRi8nsA
