Massive prospect haul for Baltimore. They won the trade on the value chart. Eyanson is the real prize. Everyone else? Overhyped. Witherspoon has a 5.00 ERA in A-Ball. Azocar is a million miles away from the bigs.

I support the trade. Franchise catchers don't grow on trees.

Going to start taking screenshots for when Eyanson is a #4 and Witherspoon is an up and down guy. Meanwhile the Sox have a franchise catcher (extension coming) and can develop back end starters with ease

When your rotation is set up for the next five years, you have the ability to make trades like this

Crochet, Suarez, Tolle and Bennett are the core. Then they’ll find another starter, just like they did with Gray and to a lesser extent Sandoval

Eyanson and Witherspoon weren’t going to help you win this year. Rutschman will. And there’s no other catchers available who aren’t complete butchers defensively that would have moved the needle like this
