Severe Weather Upgrade: Increase of tornado possibilities, especially across the east-central area of Arkansas has prompted the Storm Prediction Center to issue a HIGH risk across locations just east of the Little Rock metro. All hazards remain for most of the state. #arwx
SPC tornado driven high risk is up for eastern Arkansas….
Outlook wording: “Scattered thunderstorms will likely develop by late afternoon with these rapidly evolving into supercells. Strong to potentially violent tornadoes are forecast with a few long-tracked supercells.”
@VickieWatson15 @helloweatherapp I love KATV but I don’t care for Sinclair’s Privacy Policy “If you choose to enable our Service to use your location information, then that information will be stored and used to deliver content, services, and advertising tailored to your location.” https://t.co/ckRkGqiNRm
Occasionally friends will ask what I use to "watch" weather. I use several systems: 1) Weather Radio 2) WeatherCall 3) A trusted app for alerts (DarkSky) 4. RadarScope. Links and details here https://t.co/xpscChgrv0
I don’t tweet much anymore but I do keep this Twitter list updated. When you need local #ARwx experts and not hashtag spam you might want to follow & pin this list. https://t.co/bLq5iKBWRH
A reminder that I curate a list of the real weather experts and meteorologists in AR. You can subscribe and now pin the list via the mobile app. #ARwx https://t.co/bLq5iKBWRH
As we continue to talk about the severe weather threat overnight across the state, be sure to have a few ways of receiving severe weather warning information. #ARwx
2:45 PM-Here's a simulated radar loop of what things may look like tonight across the region. Remember, we don't expect much in the way of any storms or severe weather until the late evening hours. Be prepared before you go to sleep tonight. #ARwx
There will likely be more tornado tracks identified in Arkansas over the next couple days and it would not surprise me to see the final number close to 13-15 tornadoes. That certainly meets my definition of an “outbreak” #ARWX
5:20 am-Here's an updated map showing the latest number and locations of tornadoes that occurred April 13-14 across Arkansas. This number could change as additional surveys may still be completed. #arwx
Last night's storm has left more than 20,000 customers without power this morning. #SWEPCO crews across East Texas and Louisiana are working to restore service as quickly and safely as possible. Please stay away from any downed lines. Thank you for your patience.
NWS Little Rock Survey plan for the day:
We have a survey team heading to Mountain Home.
We have a second survey team heading over to western AR. They will start out around Umpire (assisting @NWSShreveport), and work their way up into Polk and Montgomery County.
