This is sad news to read. Class 6 are currently studying a Marcus Sedgwick novel this half term and we are just beginning to appreciate what a fabulous author he is. We will continue celebrate what a fabulous writer he is. 🕊️📖

Early this week, we visited the church to see their Remembrance poppy displays and then the cenotaph; thinking about why each village/town built one.

Our latest book orders have arrived and the copies of the much anticipated Phil Earle books have made their way home today. We can’t wait to read them! @ASADarfield @read_holmfirth @philearle #ASAReading

Our end of term reading raffle winners! A ticket is given for each time read at home. That can be 4 tickets a week and these two children achieve that every time. More tickets, more chance of winning! They chose Smyths Toys vouchers for their prize. Congratulations!#ASAReading

We absolutely LOVED our live author session with Phil Earle and @read_holmfirth this morning. The children were so engaged by Phil’s stories of his own reading experiences and motivations as a writer. Plus we were still laughing over lunch and the frazzles in our pack ups!

Fabulous first live meet the author session this week. So much learnt from Aisha Bushby and we were excited to be chosen to ask a question about what inspired her book and how long it took to write. We loved listening to the answers. Thanks @read_holmfirth

Thinking about year 6 already and our possible student responsibilities. We have chosen which roles interest us and have been explaining why we think we’d be the best for the job on our application forms during our Life Lessons.
