Breaking News: H.E. Atiku Abubakar and his running mate stood with ordinary Nigerians at a filling station in Abuja today, looking the people in the eye and promising to restore the fuel subsidy so that families can breathe again.
They came not as distant politicians, but as leaders who feel the same pain every time the pump price rises and the market basket empties.
Even Jonathan and the PDP never faced this kind of rejection from the Nigerian people. Tinubu and the APC are heading into 2027 with the masses already turning their backs on them.
Atiku Abubakar has again shown that Bola Tinubu is lying to the public!
It is clear that Tinubu's government is trying to deceive Nigerians to stay in power in 2027. We must not allow them to trick us again. It is time for regular people to stand up against these dishonest leaders and demand a better future for everyone. #TheAtikuMovement

TMG: Zulumās Arrest of Citizens Is a Gift to Tinubu, Reckless Abuse of Power ā ADC PCC
ā Intimidation, Arrests Wonāt Stop Nigerians From Voting Out Tinubu in 2027.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) has condemned the arrest of members of the āTinubu Must Goā (TMG) movement in Maiduguri, Borno State, by the administration of Governor Babagana Zulum, describing the action as a reckless abuse of power and office.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Director of Media and Publicity of the ADC PCC, Kola Ologbondiyan, described the arrests as an attempt to intimidate and silence citizens expressing opposition to the government.
āThe arrest of members of the Tinubu Must Go (#TMG) movement in Maiduguri by the state governor is reckless and a total abuse of power and office. It is a welcome gift for President Tinubu,ā Ologbondiyan said.
He alleged that some state governors were now engaged in a race to impress President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the expense of the rights and welfare of ordinary citizens.
āWhat is in vogue among some of these current governors is a race to impress Tinubu at the expense of ordinary citizens,ā he stated.
Ologbondiyan stressed that Nigerians have the constitutional right to express their political preferences and opinions, including calls to vote for party and candidate of their choice in 2027.
He maintained that expressing the slogan āTinubu must goā or āTinubu must leaveā constitutes a form of political expression and, in itself, does not amount to a criminal offence.
The ADC PCC spokesman further alleged that the arrests were intended to intimidate members of the ADC and other opposition groups ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He, however, insisted that arrests, harassment and intimidation would not deter Nigerians from exercising their franchise.
āThe intimidation of citizens through arrest and other unlawful means will not deter the people from voting out President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the January 16, 2027 election,ā
Ologbondiyan said.
The ADC PCC therefore called on Governor Zulum to ensure the immediate and unconditional release of those arrested and to guarantee their safety.
The council also urged the authorities to ensure that no harm came to the detainees, recalling what it described as a similar incident in Minna, Niger State, a fortnight earlier.
āZulum should know that in a few months, he will be an ordinary citizen, and no amount of intimidation and harassment will deter Nigerians from voting out Tinubu, Ologbondiyan added.
The ADC PCC also appealed to the international community, particularly the African Union (AU), European Union (EU), British High Commission and United States Embassy, to take note of what it described as the growing use of harassment and intimidation against citizens exercising their democratic rights.
It urged the international community to support efforts to protect Nigeriaās democratic space and safeguard citizensā fundamental rights.
Ologbondiyan recalled that when the All Progressives Congress (APC) was in opposition, its members openly criticised and attacked the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
He said Jonathan, despite the criticism directed at his government, did not order the arrest of citizens merely for exercising their right to free speech.

Atiku Demands Release of El-Rufai, Other Political Detainees
ā ADC targets one million presidential votes in Kaduna, says Campaign Council Chairman Kashim Imam
Former Vice President and presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has again demanded the immediate release of former Kaduna State Governor and Deputy Chairman of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, and other persons he described as political prisoners.
Atiku made the demand on Wednesday when he received the leadership of the ADC in Kaduna State at his Abuja residence.
He said the Federal Government had no justification for continuing to detain citizens on account of their political beliefs or associations.
āThe Federal Government has no basis to continue to hold people on the grounds of their beliefs or political association. Letās hope that the Federal Government will listen to wise counsel and release them immediately,ā Atiku said.
Speaking on his longstanding relationship with Kaduna State, the former Vice President said he had consistently enjoyed tremendous goodwill among the people of the state, stressing that Kaduna would be central to the ADCās strategy for the 2027 general elections.
āKaduna State will be key in all that we would do. I also want our party to win Kaduna State. We must not allow our elections to be stolen in the state or in any other state,ā he stated.
Atiku also urged ADC leaders and supporters in the state to draw lessons from the recent governorship election in Osun State, where he alleged that voters resisted financial inducement and voted according to their convictions.
āWe can all recall what happened in Osun State. There was no money that was not taken to the state, as well as the entire security. But the people of Osun took their money and refused to vote for them,ā he added.
Earlier, Chairman of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, Mallam Kashim Imam, disclosed that Kaduna State had emerged first in the ongoing nationwide membership registration exercise and had maintained its lead.
Imam charged the state leadership to translate the partyās growing membership base into electoral support for its presidential candidate in 2027.
āKaduna State came first in the registration of party members and has continued to maintain the lead. Kaduna State must deliver a minimum of one million votes for our presidential candidate. Kaduna is central to the ADC ahead of the 2027 presidential election,ā Imam said.
In his opening remarks, the ADC governorship candidate in Kaduna State, Alhaji Isah Ashiru, expressed confidence in the partyās prospects, saying the ADC was poised to win the governorship election and deliver all its candidates in the state.

Nigeria @66: David Mark Felicitates Nigerians, Calls for Renewed Commitment to National Unity
Former Senate President and National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator David Alechenu Bonaventure Mark, GCON, has felicitated with Nigerians as the nation marks its 66th Independence Anniversary, urging citizens and leaders alike to renew their commitment to the unity, peace, stability and development of the country.
Senator Mark, in a goodwill message to Nigerians, described the attainment of independence from British colonial rule as a defining milestone in the nationās history and a testament to the resilience, courage and enduring aspirations of the Nigerian people.
He said that, 66 years after independence, the occasion should not merely be a celebration of the past but an opportunity for sober reflection on the journey so far and a renewed determination to build a Nigeria where justice, equity, security and prosperity are accessible to all.
According to him, Nigeria possesses enormous human and material resources capable of transforming the country into a prosperous and globally respected nation, stressing that the challenge is to harness these resources responsibly for the common good.
āAt 66, our nation has every reason to celebrate, but we must also reflect deeply on our journey as a people. Independence was not simply the termination of colonial rule; it was the beginning of our collective responsibility to build a nation founded on justice, unity, peace and shared prosperity.
āNigeria belongs to all of us. Our diversity should remain a source of strength, not division. We must continue to promote national unity, mutual respect and inclusion, while ensuring that every citizen, regardless of ethnic, religious, political or geographical background, has a sense of belonging.
āThe Nigeria of our dream is possible if we place national interest above personal and sectional considerations. We must strengthen our democratic institutions, uphold the rule of law and create an environment where our young people can live, work and realise their potential in their own country.ā
Senator Mark acknowledged the sacrifices of the nationās founding fathers, past leaders, members of the armed forces, security agencies and millions of ordinary Nigerians who have contributed to the survival and growth of the country over the decades.
He called on political leaders to see public office as a solemn trust and an opportunity to serve rather than a platform for personal enrichment, urging all Nigerians to remain committed to democratic values and peaceful coexistence.
The ADC National Chairman also urged Nigerians not to lose faith in the country despite the challenges confronting the nation, stressing that the strength of Nigeria lies ultimately in the resilience and determination of its people.
He expressed optimism that with visionary leadership, responsible citizenship, institutional reforms and a renewed spirit of patriotism, Nigeria can overcome its present difficulties and fulfil its enormous potential.
Senator Mark congratulated Nigerians at home and abroad on the 66th Independence Anniversary and prayed for peace, stability, prosperity and greater unity across the country.
āAs we celebrate Nigeria at 66, let us renew our faith in our country and recommit ourselves to the task of building the Nigeria we desire and deserve. The journey may be challenging, but together, with courage, sacrifice and sincerity of purpose, we can build a nation that future generations will be proud to inherit.
āHappy Independence Anniversary to all Nigerians. May God continue to bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
