Yes, spring is just about here, but we’re already thinking fall ball! MARCH 7 will be our tryouts for our fall 13yo squad (current 12yo players). We’re looking for players with the passion and potential to play the #SenatorsWay! Register now at https://t.co/F1JqPpYR8U
@NorwoodonQ I think people are so baseball-starved, you could charge admission for this and use the proceeds pay to have a portable batter’s-eye put in at Quincy… Good-luck, Generals all!
Tom’s spot on, Arlington. And we’re lucky enough to have a fantastic college program right in our back yard! @GWBaseball1’s home opener is 3/4 vs. Maine and fans are allowed back at The Tuck! Tix START at $6/ Go get yours at https://t.co/vQg2AtIkHP. See ya there!
I believe college baseball games are where youth athletes can learn the most about baseball. Take your kids to more college games. Have them watch the full BP, warmup bullpen and game. Explain these athletes are doing this plus school. It’ll be invaluable experience!
While we’re not suggesting coaches load the dugout with Kimochis (we’re also not saying *not* to do that…), this is a great reminder that while it’ll be great to get the kids back on the diamond, the stressors from Covid are both not over, and are cumulative. #KidsAreLikeFlowers
@baseballifer11 Funny, on our feed it’s been “receiving wisdom day.” We get so caught up in what is “right” that we forget it’s about 2 things—the catcher and the umpire. OHO, a good catcher should be smart & flexible enough to have a diverse toolkit & adjust to what the ump is calling that day.
Whether it’s retired immediately or not, clearly no one should EVER wear #11 for the @Nationals again. @BaseballHammy — we’re counting on you to ensure that happens by any means necessary (so long as it’s 1st Class).
Ryan Zimmerman announces his retirement after 16 seasons in the big leagues.
• First-ever Nationals draft pick
• 2x All-Star
• 2x Silver Slugger
• 1x Gold Glove
Liking the look of the first few days of @APSVirginia spring sports tryouts/workouts, @NorwoodonQ, @YTWNBSBLL, and @WakefieldBase! You’re going to see some stronger bodies, quicker bats, & live arms if our Winter Workouts tell us anything. Yes, knocking wood—no weather whammies!
We’re with every-single-person who has astutely noted that one of the great traditions of we baseball folk to celebrate 00.00 on the Super Bowl Clock as the unofficial start of the baseball season. The fact we all can’t dance that dance is sad.
Right on. Yes, we all want MLB back, but folks can see this as an opportunity to expand their love for the game by watching the fantastic High School, Juco, College, Minor & Independent League players getting after it. Baseball is an amazing—and different—game at every level!
We just got word from @ABRarlingtonBB that Coaching Legend John Karinshak has left us. More details in their writeup here. Here’s more details on how you can pay your respects: https://t.co/mKa1HD3eJU.
Baseball Gods, you got a great one in your dugout, now.💔⚾️😇
@baseballifer11 Even still, I’ve found that at 7-8, kids want to play games. They are not playing sandlot anymore, so league ball is their opportunity to play like the big boys & girls. Drill games work well at 4-6, but by 7-8 attention spans and cognition are more inclined to actual game play.
