Under ASB Georgia's project "Stronger Together - Cooperative Action to Respond to Cross-Border Emergencies", Emergency Situation Coordination and Urgent Assistance Center staff underwent 120 hours of training within the framework of the WHO's global classification process.
Within German Foreign Federal Office funded project, “Emergency humanitarian assistance for conflict-affected people of Ukraine”, a press conference was held. Ambassador Peter Fischer handed the symbolic cheque of 5 million EUR to ASB Georgia’s director Clemens von Heimendahl.
ASB Georgia and Georgian Judo Federation signed a memorandum of understanding for close cooperation in ASB Georgia’s new project and future joint activities. Self-defense, self-confidence building and de-escalation classes will be provided to 1300 Ukrainian girls, women and boys.
Under the DG – ECHO funded project – Stronger Together – Cooperative Action to Respond to Cross-Border Emergencies, a 120-hour training was conducted for the members of Georgian EMTs, discussing the mechanisms of humanitarian aid, civil defense, and EMT's operational issues.
ASB actively supports and provides activities for Ukrainian children in Georgia in order to reduce the degree of stress from the war in Ukraine and support their integration process in Georgian society.

June 1st is the International Children’s Day. For many years, ASB has been actively working on providing children with education, access to services, safe environment, sports activities and many learning opportunities.
In the framework of DG – ECHO funded project – Stronger Together – Cooperative Action to Respond to Cross-Border Emergencies, 4 members from Georgian and Armenian EMTs and 3 project staff participated in World Association for Disaster and Emergency Medicine (#WADEM) Congress.
ASB provided clean drinking water in Turkey and Syria after the earthquakes. Two water filtration plants distributed 20,000 liters of clean water per day in Turkey. Moreover, 13 mobile Skyhydrant water plants were delivered in Syria.

Water shortages, dirty water and climate change are endangering the lives of millions of people. ASB is committed to providing clean drinking water and sanitation facilities around the world. Wells in Niger provide thousands of people clean water from depths of 500 to 750 meters.
To enable people with disabilities to access sanitary facilities, ASB in Indonesia supports the barrier-free conversion of such facilities. With the involvement of disabled people's associations and the local population, the buildings are being designed earthquake-resistant.
13 Sky Hydrant Systems for Water purification were delivered to the partner MAPS in Turkey and SEMA in Syria. Tents were also erected in Dschindires and the setup FAST clinic is now treating patients. ASB support continuous in #Turkey and #Syria through the local partners.
Shortly after 4:17 on 6th February, several strong earthquakes shook Turkey and Syria, leaving tremendous damage to the infrastructure and causing many human casualties. ASB reacted within 24 hours and planned immediately first humanitarian aid intervention for both countries.
A total of 28 ASB FAST volunteers arrived after an initial assessment group on site in Turkey. The First Assistance Samaritan Teams (FAST), an emergency aid instrument of ASB foreign aid, carry out assistance in the areas of drinking water and medical care.
Along with financial support, family receives the information and social assistance through the system of family helpers – Hresnics. Hresnic will accompany the family in solving everyday issues and motivate them to integrate into Georgian society.

Natalia is the mother (official caregiver) of 14 children from Ukraine. It took her 8 long months to move her family from the occupied territory of Ukraine to Georgia. Through partners, ASB Georgia learned about this family and immediately included in the current support program.
Today is International Women's Day. For many years, ASB has been actively promoting equal rights for women and girls worldwide. The support ranges from equal access to knowledge and sports to strengthening skills in the entrepreneurial sector.
Numerous projects aim to break down gender barriers and promote greater participation in social processes. As examples, we show three projects from three different parts of the world that are dedicated to empowering women and improving their living conditions in their countries.
ASB Georgia welcomes the amendments made to the resolution by the Government of Georgia on February 24, 2023, according to which, the visa-free period of stay in the country for Ukrainian citizens was extended to 2 years. 🇬🇪 🇺🇦
