I love that these people think that in the past they would have been chivalrous knights, and that in the future they would be visionary explorers. Only in the present are they burdened by the weight of exploitation and meaninglessness.
This is true. The city pop craze of the late 2010s was entirely driven by uploads by those archivists. The image people associate most with Marika Takeuchi’s Plastic Love was from a different album but used on a YouTube upload
my most conservative take is that the diasporic asian experience and upbringing will always vastly depart from the typical asian experience and seeing diasporic asians talk over asian politics/experience always put a sour taste in my mouth

Difference of malaise and boredom. Constant screen time (infinite, mediated scroll in its many forms) produces a kind of stagnant malaise in users. Boredom can be productive—it’s the condition in which you have to imagine things, aspire to things. Malaise produces nothing.
