Here’s TC Owen receiving his ART achievement certificate from Rev Peter on our Bell Sunday. Congratulations to Owen on the award and on his preaching at today’s services 👏
Excellent practice last night thanks to reinforcements from @PutneyBells and elsewhere. All 10 ringing at practice for the 1st time in ages, plus Stedman, St Simons and Grandsire practice.
Boosting this yet again. Lots of people tweeter here follows on X in a personal or professional capacity are going to BlueSky, I think I’ve seen a couple of ringing posts on Threads, but finding it hard to search.
We welcomed our new vicar at @AllSaintsFulham, Rev Peter Dobson, this evening with a quarter of Grandsire Doubles, then general ringing on all 10 bells (first time we’ve rung all 10 for a while, & it’s such a great sound).
Another good practice last night. Learners Carol and Niyi making excellent progress, and a visitor from Canada made all the difference to our upping our Stedman game.
Last week we had an informal tea party to say goodbye to former Tower Captain Eddie as he prepares to move to Brighton. Eddie was instrumental in reviving our band in the early 00s and has been a mentor, inspiration & friend to many ringers in the SW London area
@Londonringing We have thick walls but it’s still hot. Last week I was about to ask if we could open a window but then realised that all the windows were open, and there was just no air!
Because a lot of people are unavailable and the temperature is going to be very high we won’t be practising this week. But we are hoping to practise during August 🤞
Great practice tonight. Built on our Stedman Doubles & even managed a simple touch (once tweeter was moved to the tenor!). Also some intense dodging practice for one of our learners. All helped a lot by Paula from @PutneyBells. And we had a lovely US visitor from Northampton MA🙂
Only 5 this morning but we had some respectable Bob Minimus with cover. No band practice this Tuesday as Tower Captain & Ringing Master (and pretty much everyone else!) unavailable.
