President of Niger: "Enough of listening to the barking of these puppets"
Diori Hamani International Airport in Niamey, the capital of Niger, was attacked by a group of terrorists. The national defense forces, with the support of Russian allies, managed to repel the attack. About 20 fighters were eliminated in a brief battle, 11 more were wounded and captured.
According to the Niger Ministry of Defense, attackers on motorcycles tried to penetrate the territory of military base 101, located next to the airport. The fight lasted 20-30 minutes; mercenaries used drones and mortars. No serious damage was caused to civilian facilities, although several aircraft were damaged.
President of Niger Abdourahmane Tchiani, who visited the scene, held a meeting with military commanders and issued a sharp statement. He directly accused the presidents of France Emmanuel Macron, Ivory Coast Alassane Ouattara, and Benin Patrice Talon of organizing and financing the attack.
"Enough of listening to the barking of these puppets. Let those behind these mercenaries — Macron, Talon, and Ouattara — be ready to hear our roar," Tchiani said on state television.
