Fifth graders were paired with third graders last week to show off news articles they wrote about historic news events. The conversations let students in each grade share what they learned while becoming experts on a world-changing news event, for the fifth grade, or on an historic "Women of Character" for the third grade. The research projects culminated in a report and class play for each third grader and a research-based news article and an Innovation-Lab-crafted figure for each fifth grader.

It is Rocket Science at Sacred Heart! Recently, Honors Physics students put their dynamic engineering and physics skills to the test by first launching an empty 2-liter bottle. From there, students worked to understand the conceptual underpinnings of motion, interactions, and energy. Multiple Innovation Lab sessions allowed for iteration through the refinement process called 'The Engineering Design Process'.

This week, our community gathered for all-school Mass, marking the celebration of Catholic Schools Week and honoring the foundress of the Society of the Sacred Heart, St. Madeleine Sophie. It was a joyous occasion that also saw the return of former faculty and staff members.
