My s.o. is brilliant.
First generation college student. PharmD. Postdoc.
We made a decision (coin toss), she stayed home with the kids. Daycare = postdoc salary.
It kills me.
Now she got an offer!

Because I'm blind, an airline is saying I have to sit alone. We booked side-by-side seats. But when they found out I'm blind, they separated us. They're claiming it's their policy 1/7 #RightsOnFlights
We're researching the deaf medical experience and want to hear your stories. We want to speak to those who've had to deal with medical emergencies – from simple accidents, difficult births, serious medical conditions – please email to [email protected] to find out more.
Quick reminder that “ADA compliant” does not and never has meant “accessible”. The ADA covers bare minimum accessibility standards. MOST Disabled ppl have access needs beyond what the ADA regulates.
Happy #ADA day all. It's been nice having the floor raised but we have so damn much more work to do. Our community shouldn't be stuck fighting for the bare minimum. Our country still treats us as id our rights are too expensive to honor. Let alone start thinking about justice.

Hospital employee: “Which do you prefer, confined to a wheelchair or wheelchair-bound?”
Me: “I prefer wheelchair user.”
When I think of being confined or bound, the last thing I think of is my wheelchair. Wheelchair use is freeing. Wheelchair use is mobility.

Me, a wheelchair user: “Your car is blocking the curb ramp. Can you please move?”
Driver: “Can you wait? I’ll be leaving soon.”

Driver: “You have no patience. Just wait.”
Disabled people are tired of waiting for access.
