Planning for the 43rd Biennial ASSBT meeting from February 25-28, 2025 in Long Beach, CA has begun! The ASSBT Board of Directors visited Long Beach in early March to view the meeting space and the city. Did you know? Long Beach averages 345 days of sunshine?
ASSBT hosted the 42nd Biennial meeting in Savannah, GA last week. It was great to be back in person after four years, exchanging research information and knowledge for the betterment of beet sugar industry.
Well, that’s a wrap. ASSBT 2023 is over. What an amazing with with record turnout. We are grateful for everyone’s support of the beet sugar industry and research. Safe travels home from Savannah!

The Call for Papers and Award Nominations for the 42nd Biennial ASSBT Meeting was sent out today. Looking forward to a great meeting in Savannah, GA Feb. 27 - Mar. 2, 2023!
A fantastic day learning about research at Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech. “Agriculture-Environment-Food-Forest is Life”. CO2 measurements, food technology, climate studies, AI and deep learning, and forest management and predictive modeling were some of the research themes. #IIRB2022
Day 2 of IIRB meetings featured two interesting USDA-ARS virtual presentations from @Melvin_Bolton and @ChenggenC on the complex genetics of DMI fungicide resistance and the potential of the NPGS germplasm collection and crop wild relatives, respectively.
ASSBT is pleased to attend and support our friends overseas at the 78th IIRB (International Institute of Sugar Beet Research) Congress. A great Day 1 of research presentations and posters, followed by dinner at the Chateau de Beloeil in Belgium. #IIRB2022
