Knowing the ill effects of not planning for closures in communities like the La Trobe valley, Collie ASU members have worked hard since 2014 with Synergy and the WA Govt to make sure there is a roadmap their families’ and their communities’ future.

👇 Today (and with #IWD and #MardiGras coming up) we thought it timely to write to @Qantas' CEO, Alan Joyce about moving the Qantas uniform policy into the 21st Century.
Thank you to the Local Government Delegates who attended tonight’s forum with Hon. John Carey MLA about Local Government reforms in WA.
Thank you Minister for providing us with an informative briefing & answering our questions so candidly.

ASU members in the aviation and travel industries are fighting hard to make sure that history doesn't repeat itself in the wake of COVID19. We don't need more CEO bonuses, we need financial support & job security for all affected aviation workers now!

Last year, every Labor MP signed our anti-privatisation pledge.
We invited Liberal MPs to sign also, but not one of them did. This is just one of the reasons we don't trust the Liberals on privatisation.
Every Australian worker needs to be protected against Covid-19. Economic strain should not be preventing people from taking necessary time off work to isolate, quarantine or recover.
This is why we need Paid Pandemic Leave NOW! https://t.co/c7lO2zpaw3?

Scott Morrison has refused to give casual and contract workers paid special leave for the coronavirus outbreak. Instead, he suggested workers should go on the Newstart unemployment payment, currently set below the poverty line.
The last three months of national energy policy chaos have delivered a new Federal Energy Minister and a new Prime Minister, but no more certainty about the future.

Australia needs a pay rise. Here's how we get it:
• Increase the minimum wage
• Restore penalty rates
• Stop wage theft
• Guarantee equal pay for women
• Have minimum standards that improve over time
Let's make it happen. Join your union. #ChangeTheRules
Inequality is at a 70 year high, there is systematic wage theft, 732 corporations paid no tax in Australia. It didn’t used to be like this in Australia, it used to be about the fair go. Big business has far too much power. That is why we are marching to #ChangeTheRules#ausunions
#Budget2018 reveals Turnbull and Morrison's plan to put people on modest incomes in the same tax bracket as people on 6 figure salaries. This budget fails working people. It does nothing to address inequality, stagnant wage growth or the rise of insecure work. #ChangeTheRules
