"Change doesn't begin with the world as it is. It begins with the world as it could be."
122 million girls are still waiting. Today at the #EWF26, @Malala, our CEO @NabilaAguele and our Chief Executive of Pakistan @nishatriaz are making sure they're not forgotten.
Every girl belongs in school.
Not someday. Now.
The cost of excluding girls from education isn't just moral, it's economic. To the tune of $15–30 trillion in lost lifetime earnings, according to the World Bank. When education budgets shrink, girls leave school first. And as Devex highlights, they are less likely to return. That lost potential doesn't stay contained. It ripples across families, health systems, and entire economies, for generations.
Real progress for girls doesn’t happen in isolation. Civil society builds it through sustained pressure, coordination and trust.
In Brazil, @camp_educacao has spent over two decades building a network of 200+ organisations to push for stronger education systems. That work paid off this year: securing a commitment to increase education funding to 10% of GDP, alongside broader structural wins shaping how education is delivered for girls across the country.
@Malala is inviting you to stand with girls fighting for their futures.
Your support helps unlock education and opportunity for millions of girls around the world, and builds safer, stronger communities for everyone.
