On International Women’s Day, Let’s Not Forget the Ezidi Women Still in Captivity
Today, as millions around the world celebrate International Women’s Day, Ezidi women remain missing—held in captivity, tortured, and abused by 1S1S. While others speak of progress and empowerment, our sisters are still suffering, their voices silenced by an international community that has not done enough to bring them home.
Thousands of Ezidi women and children were kidnapped during the 2014 genocide. Some escaped, others were rescued, but many remain unaccounted for. Their mothers—who lost everything—continue to live with unimaginable grief. Their families, their community, and all of us who seek justice are left asking: Why is the world not doing more?
The Ezidi genocide was recognized by the United Nations and many governments, yet real action is still missing. We call on human rights organizations, governments, and the international community:
•Demand the immediate rescue of the missing women.
•Ensure accountability for those who enslaved and brutalized them.
•Provide meaningful justice and support for survivors.
The suffering of Ezidi women is not a past tragedy—it is an ongoing reality. Let International Women’s Day be a reminder not only of how far the world has come, but of the justice still denied to so many.
