@Creetosis22 Shows how their mindset really is. Reviewers can't really lose. If a movie succeeds, reviewers win from being able to talk about a good movie. If a movie flops, reviewers win even more as they can bash a bad film and get even more attention as people love a good dumpster fire.

And yes, all 5 of them were on section 8. Their actual rent was maybe $100 a month.

@SpoonieSexer These kind of people don't understand that being a landlord IS a full time job. Hell, I worked for a landlord that owned about 5 properties and at least one of their tenants complained every day to fix one thing or another, most from something they broke. I quit after a week.

@Creetosis22 Yeah, this argument has never worked on me because I was outright miserable while I was younger, and most media and games were my only escape from my garbage life. I finally got away from that life thankfully, and oh look the old stuff is still better than today's slop!

I've seen VCRs, DVD players, and even old gaming systems work like they are new all because people took care of them.

If something you owned rotted away, that says a lot more about you than it does about the item that rotted.

Before streaming, I was a big DVD collector. I bought nearly a thousand movies. I thought I was building a library. And I will tell you a secret:

DVDs rot.

The glue that holds the layers together can become opaque so the laser doesn’t read the disc properly or it can simply degrade so the disc falls apart or it can warp or expand so the disc won’t spin properly in the drive.

So, in addition to needing to keep antique hardware with delicate moving parts in working order to play these games or watch these movies, the media itself is degrading.

Yeah, your purchased digital movie might get deleted from the network over rights issues at some point in the future or the service that provides it might shut down. But if you buy a BluRay and put it on a shelf for five years and then decide to watch it, there is a decent chance it won’t work.

I love a beautiful Criterion movie box set or a game with cool box art and a manual as much as the next guy, but people overly romanticize physical media. The universe is governed by entropy and everything is falling apart.

@RepYassAnsari Birthright citizenship actually means if your parents are citizens, either from their parents being citizens or by naturalization, your children also become citizens. The SCOTUS simply got it wrong. Besides, just because your kid is an American doesn't make the parents American.

@Creetosis22 I think it is now obvious that the lead actress said all that crap to give people like Perturbed Pedro an excuse to help defend this terrible movie. Sadly, we already saw through it and already pointed it out it was dumb of her to say that crap along with everything else.
