When we were preparing to go to Iraq in 2005 we had an Iraqi who had fled Iraq, and ended up in the employ of the CIA briefing us on culture, and Ramadan came up.

One of the senior officers in the auditorium spoke up quickly, and started to say we should not drink, eat, or smoke in front of Iraqis during Ramadan, to respect their culture.

This CIA dude immediately locks eyes with this officer and asks very loudly

“WHY?!”

The officer was a little caught off guard, and before he could answer the CIA guy started explaining.

“You are American, you are Christian, you DO NOT celebrate Ramadan, and if you don’t carry on as an American during Ramadan it will be seen as weakness. It reinforces their idea that their god is the only true god, and that all others will bow before Islam.

If they don’t offer you a drink when you come to their home, ask for one, during Ramadan!

Make them respect you, or they will attack you more because they see you as weak.

They are asserting their dominance, and if you falter in the slightest they see you as less than them.”

That stuck with me, and it was true.

You could see they didn’t respect the guys who went out of their way to accommodate them, both in the way they acted towards American troops, and in the number of attacks on US Forces in the areas.

Eat, drink, and be Merry, even during Ramadan.

See, this is what gets me. She waited until her husband was gone to kill her children. Andrea Yates did the same thing (and also chased down her oldest son who wanted to escape).

I prosecuted a guy who committed two burglaries in two days.

Judge released him without bail.

He proceeded to commit three more burglaries over the next three days.

Judge then imposed a $1,000 bail.

Fortunately he was dead broke and took a felony plea immediately. But, my State’s laws being what they are, he wasn’t sent to prison because it was his first felony conviction.

He proceeded to immediately commit additional burglaries once released. The bright side is that now that I had him as a convicted felon, his next burglary carried a mandatory prison sentence.

So much crime in this country is a direct result of the 2020s Floydian Reforms reducing bail and prison time.

It turns out Flock Safety Cameras love and demand privacy, but only for themselves and their employees

- Flock business location says you can’t film
- Flock moved locations but they instructed the old building to not give out their location to anyone asking
- Security guard at Flock building says he doesn’t consent to being filmed and he doesn’t want to be “under surveillance”

Here’s where it gets really crazy

- The new flock building is identified but they won’t put their name on the building, or on any of the building signs
- Security won’t confirm Flock is in the building
- No one is allowed to film, no one is even allowed to access any floors in the building

Flock demands extremely privacy, but only for themselves

Americans must be under surveillance but for them, you can’t even film outside an old building…. Amazing….
