I have such immense respect for *most* coaches, particularly at the high school level.

They are consumed with their sport, they pour into your kids, they sacrifice their own time and lay their heart on the line over and over.

What they typically get from it: constant criticism, nasty parent emails and a lack of appreciation.

I call it the "everybody's an idiot" syndrome. We all think we know better than the next person. But it's different when you're the one in that seat, making multitudes of decisions to best serve your team and provide proper opportunities for growth.

These coaches deal with a lot, yet they keep showing up and loving their people. Find one tomorrow and tell them you appreciate them.
