@chronoculture Yes, it goes in your bank account or on a debit card & you can use it for anything, essentials - housing, childcare, medical expenses - or non-essentials alike. So whether it’s used as housing support is up to the circumstances/choices of the individual.

@chronoculture For ex. Minnesota Medical Assistance insurance you must report within 10 days if you or anyone in household has job/income change, moves, receives other benefits, marries, is pregnant, etc. So a lot of jumping through hoops.

@chronoculture The problem with government assistance programs (unemployment, health insurance, housing) is 1) knowing the program exists; 2) having literacy/comprehension skills to understand eligibility/rules; and 3) access to internet and/or post materials to apply and maintain eligibility.
