Retford FC Secure Key Forward Ahmed Tahar for 2026/27 Campaign
Retford FC have strengthened their squad ahead of the step up to Step 5 with the confirmed the re-signing of forward Ahmed Tahar, who has committed to the club for another year.
Tahar was one of the instrumental players in last season’s promotion push, delivering 11 goals in 35 league appearances and consistently proving himself as one of the side’s most dynamic attacking threats. His blend of work rate, physicality, and eye for goal made him a standout performer throughout the campaign.
With the club preparing for a higher level of competition, securing Tahar’s services represents a significant statement of intent. His ability to stretch defences, link play, and produce big moments in tight games adds yet another dimension to Chris Woodhead’s evolving squad.
Manager Chris Woodhead expressed his delight at getting the deal finalised:
“I’m over the moon to get this one sorted. Tahar is a great player and a great lad and I can’t wait to work with him again next season.”
Tahar’s return continues the club’s strategy of retaining the core of last season’s promotion‑winning group while adding quality and depth for the challenges ahead. His experience, consistency, and connection with the squad make him a key figure as preparations for the new campaign gather pace.
Retford FC look forward to seeing Tahar back in a Retford shirt, ready to make his mark once again as the club embarks on an exciting new chapter at a higher level.
Sheffield FC are delighted to announce that Alex Hardwick has signed a new contract with the club.
Since arriving at the Home of Football, Hardwick has established himself as one of the most prolific goalscorers in the non-league game.
