@FAANews Yeah, but the important question is… is the FAA saving money?
Saving money > Safety
… or
Safety > Saving Money
Something must take priority
@BernieSanders Scientist agree that “climate change” I about 1 degree every 100 years.
But your rhetoric makes it seem like temperatures are up 1-2 degrees every year.
Absolute nonsense
@BernieSanders If the federal government doesn’t have a balanced budget and Congress can keep spending money it doesn’t have. Why do taxes matter? You can just spend the money you are talking about taxing without ever applying a tax…
Balance the budget first!
@SueWilliam6597@dianamee@SecDuffy@USDOT@FAANews@pdoocy@SundayBriefFNC Wow, you made a lot of assumptions and racists comments
You are obviously a racists with these assumptions.
I’ve never not gotten a job that I pursued. So everything you said was literally just a racist driven assumption.
@dianamee@SecDuffy@USDOT@FAANews@pdoocy@SundayBriefFNC Bible teaches Christians to pursue virtues produced by the Holy Spirit.
I didn’t realize being condescending was one of those fruits.
I only know of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Basic Pay at a level 12 is 131k, that gets adjusted by locality pay to effectively adjust for the cost of living in expensive areas.
So the quality of life for a level 12 facility most people can imagine is more or less a salary of 131k. Since that is mostly what the American people are quantifying as our pay (quality of life).
There are 16 level 12 FAA ATC facilities in the USA… out of 331 FAA ATC facilities.
So less than 5% of facilities are level 12, that means many people are bound to end up at a lower level facility.
A level 4 facility basic pay is 61k.
Let’s look at DCA where the recent crash was.
DCA is a level 9 facility that sees a significant amount of Traffic. The Basic pay for a level 9 is 103k and with locality pay is adjusted up 33% and lands at 141k.
However the average cost of living in Washington DC is 39% to 59% higher than average USA. So the US dollar goes a lot less farther.
What I’m getting at is 141k is a hell of a lot of money in “po dunk Alabama” but it doesn’t go very far in a place like DC and it isn’t enough money for people to want to work there.
The FAA is trying to consolidate facilities to remote locations so the pay can be lower and thus the dollar go farther. But as it stands not, unless they consolidate facilities to low cost of living areas. Pay is way too low at a lot of these VERY HIGH cost of living areas.
@Az3nxnn@dayboyronda1@SecDuffy False, basic pay after Graduation from OKC is 47k. It doesn’t advance from there until multiple positions are certified on at the officially assigned Air Traffic Control Facility.
