The game is on in Atlanta, and we're bringing home the hardware 🏆
Our region has officially been named the #1 City for Sports Business in America by @SBJ!
This honor is a testament to the business community, civic leadership, and collaborative spirit that make Sports More Than Sports in our region.
Congratulations to our partners across the region who help make this city the best in the nation for sports business.
@ATLSportsCncl
Business may introduce us. Sports help us get to know one another.
The FIFA World Cup™ has reminded us that some of the strongest international relationships don't begin in a boardroom—they begin by sharing an experience.
While Belgium celebrated a hard-fought victory over Team USA, we were grateful for the opportunity to spend the evening with Katherine Raeymaekers, @BelgiumAtlanta, and members of Atlanta's Belgian community.
Katherine describes Atlanta as a welcoming city with a thriving Belgian business community, and her perspective perfectly captures what we've experienced throughout the tournament. Metro Atlanta is built on global connections, but it's moments like these that give those connections a human face.
Congratulations to Belgium, and thank you for being such a memorable part of Atlanta's World Cup story.
The final whistle has blown, but the impact will be felt for years to come.
Over the past month, metro Atlanta welcomed the world—hosting unforgettable matches, creating meaningful connections, and showcasing why our region is one of the world's premier destinations for global events, business, and investment.
This tournament wasn't just about what happened on the pitch. It was about the partnerships formed, the businesses supported, the volunteers who stepped up, and the hundreds of thousands of fans who experienced the very best of metro Atlanta.
To everyone who helped make this possible—our public and private partners, community leaders, volunteers, local businesses, and fans from around the globe—thank you.
A Note from Metro Atlanta Chamber President and CEO Katie Kirkpatrick: "Over the past few weeks, Atlanta had the opportunity to welcome the world, and our region showed up in a way that should make all of us proud.
Years of work and preparation culminated in eight matches at @MBStadium and a celebration that reached far beyond the stadium itself.
For those of us who remember the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games, this moment carried special meaning. I lived in Atlanta during the Olympics and even met my husband there, so I saw firsthand how a global sporting event can shape both the way a city sees itself and the way it is seen by the world.
What Atlanta just accomplished builds on that legacy. Once again, we welcomed visitors from around the world, delivered on a global stage, and demonstrated why Atlanta continues to grow as a top-tier global region.
None of this happened by accident. It took years of planning and, more importantly, genuine partnership.
I am especially grateful to @GovKemp, Mayor @andreforatlanta, Dan Corso and the Atlanta World Cup Host Committee (@FWC26Atlanta/@ATLSportsCncl), Arthur Blank and AMB Sports and Entertainment, Richard McKay, William Pate and the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau (@DiscoverAtlanta), Kevin Duvall and the Georgia World Congress Center Authority (@GWCC_ATL), the @atlcouncil, the Georgia General Assembly, our federal delegation, the The White House Task Force on the FIFA World Cup 2026, @MARTAtransit, and our many local, state, federal, and community partners. Your leadership and commitment helped make this tournament a historic success.
A special thank you also goes to the people who brought it to life every day: our first responders and public safety professionals, transportation and hospitality workers, volunteers, local artists, performers, businesses, and everyone who welcomed visitors with warmth and pride. You were the face of Atlanta to the world.
To our Metro Atlanta Chamber investors, our business community, and partners throughout metro Atlanta and across Georgia, thank you. This was an Atlanta success made possible by strong regional and statewide partnerships, and its impact will be felt across our city, region, and state.
The world came to Atlanta, and Atlanta was ready. The matches may be over, but the relationships we built, the momentum we created, and the global visibility Atlanta earned will benefit our region for years to come."
A-T-L!! Thank you for making the World Cup such an amazing experience! The city, the state and Mercedes-Benz Stadium was on fire from start to finish! THANK YOU!
The world's biggest sporting event relies on one of the world's most connected aerospace ecosystems.
Hosting FIFA World Cup 2026™ wasn't just about welcoming fans. It required years of planning and coordination from the industry that keeps the world moving.
This week, the Metro Atlanta Chamber's Economic Development team gathered aerospace leaders for a discussion on how aviation, manufacturing, and global connectivity helped prepare metro Atlanta for one of the largest sporting events in the world.
Panelists shared how organizations across the aerospace sector collaborated to keep the world moving during FIFA World Cup 2026™, highlighting the planning, partnerships, and global connectivity that position metro Atlanta as a leader in aviation and aerospace.
The conversation also highlighted why metro Atlanta is uniquely positioned for moments like this. “Global connectivity isn't something we build for a single event. It's a strength that's been built over decades and continues to power one of the nation's largest aerospace ecosystems,“ said Kimberly Allred, Aerospace and Defense Manager at the Metro Atlanta Chamber.
A special thank you to Kimberly for bringing together an outstanding panel, and to our partners TRC Talent Solutions and @kennesawstate for helping make the conversation possible.

Today, England takes the pitch in Atlanta one final time.
As another chapter of @FIFAWorldCup comes to a close in metro Atlanta, we're reflecting on one of the biggest lessons this tournament has reinforced: the impact of global sporting events reaches far beyond the match itself.
This morning, the Metro Atlanta Chamber welcomed leaders from the United Kingdom and metro Atlanta for a conversation on how sports can create lasting value for the communities they serve - from driving economic opportunity and tourism to inspiring future generations and strengthening international connections.
The conversation also explored how Atlanta and the UK are leveraging major sporting events as platforms for innovation, investment, and community impact, and why the true legacy of hosting is measured not only in unforgettable moments, but in the opportunities those moments create.
Thank you to Rachel Galloway, Andrew Saltzman, Jeremy Parkins, Shannon Joyner, Mayor @andreforatlanta, Mary Waters, and everyone who joined us for such a thoughtful discussion.
Best of luck to England and Argentina as they take the field today. ⚽
@UKinUSA
The crowds are growing. The energy is rising. But the conversations are just getting started. ⚽
With England back in Atlanta tomorrow, we're reflecting on the incredible conversations that have happened alongside the matches.
We've heard leaders talk about how sport creates opportunities for business, diplomacy, and lasting international relationships.
Hosting the tournament has always been about more than the game. It's about showing who metro Atlanta is and why global connections matter so much here.
We can't wait for tomorrow!

Metro Atlanta's logistics advantage continues to deliver.
Leading automotive maintenance and cleaning products manufacturer and distributor @HighlineWarren is investing $170 million in a new 1.1 million-square-foot logistics and operations center in McDonough, creating 160 new jobs and expanding its ability to reach customers across North America.
The investment strengthens Georgia's automotive supply chain and reinforces why companies continue to choose metro Atlanta for its talent, infrastructure, and unmatched connectivity.
Congratulations to Highline Warren and our partners on another win for the region's economy.
One team leaves. Another arrives. But every visit leaves something behind.
Over the past few weeks, metro Atlanta has had the privilege of welcoming the world. Every country has brought its own traditions, perspectives, and energy to our region, and every visit has been an opportunity to learn a little more about one another.
For the Metro Atlanta Chamber, hosting has meant more than celebrating the matches. It has meant opening doors, introducing global leaders to the people and places shaping our economy, and sharing why metro Atlanta continues to stand out as a destination for innovation, investment, and collaboration.
As the tournament moves on to the next chapter, we'll keep looking back at some of the moments that made this experience so special.
Spain's visit was one of them.
Here's another look at how we used this extraordinary opportunity to showcase metro Atlanta, both on the world stage and behind the scenes.

Big city energy. Southern hospitality. Global opportunity. 🌎
According to @TheEconomist, Atlanta has been ranked the #2 most livable city in the United States for the fourth straight year!
Atlanta stood out for its high quality of life, recognizing the things that make our region an amazing place to live—from world-class healthcare and infrastructure to culture, education and opportunity.
Every FIFA World Cup™ player starts somewhere.
For the next generation of soccer players, fans, and leaders, that journey often begins close to home.
Through events like Marietta SoccerFest '26, local communities are using the excitement of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ to do more than celebrate the game. They're investing in places where families gather, kids play, and neighborhoods come together to create opportunities that strengthen quality of life and inspire the next generation.
The legacy of the World Cup won't be measured only by the matches played. It will also be measured by the communities that embraced the moment and turned it into something lasting.
Thank you to the @cityofmarietta and the many partners who are helping grow the game and create new opportunities for the future.

As the U.S. Men's National Team takes the pitch against Belgium tonight, we're looking back at the big decision that helped shape the future of soccer in America. 🇺🇸⚽
When @USSoccer selected metro Atlanta for its new headquarters and the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center, it wasn't just choosing a location - it was investing in a region that reflects the future of the sport.
The project represents a $225 million investment and will create more than 400 jobs, establishing a year-round destination for player development, coaching, innovation, and national team training.
@jtbatson, CEO of U.S. Soccer Federation, shared with us that metro Atlanta stood out because it mirrors the evolution of soccer itself: "Soccer fans are younger, more diverse, and more tech savvy than any other sport in the country. That sounds a lot like Atlanta."
He also pointed to the region's global connectivity, talent, quality of life, and the culture built around @ATLUTD as key reasons U.S. Soccer chose metro Atlanta.
"We're proud to have supported this project alongside our state and local partners," said Dylan Horne, Senior Manager, Business Recruitment, at the Metro Atlanta Chamber. "U.S. Soccer's decision reflects the momentum our region has built around the sport, and we're honored to welcome its headquarters and National Training Center to metro Atlanta as the game continues to grow across our region.”
Best of luck to our @USMNT tonight!
Spain brought unforgettable energy to metro Atlanta during FIFA World Cup 2026™ and helped open doors beyond the pitch.
As part of MAC’s welcome to Spain, our economic development team hosted Spanish startups and representatives from the Spanish Trade Commission for a look inside Tech Square, connecting them with the people and ideas powering our innovation ecosystem.
From @GeorgiaTech's Coda building to conversations with leaders in Atlanta’s startup and venture community, the visit showcased why metro Atlanta continues to stand out as a global destination for innovation.
Thousands of runners. The World's Largest 10K. Endless Atlanta pride. 🍑🏃

Just steps from @MBStadium, the historic @sodowntownatl neighborhood is becoming a hub for entrepreneurs, innovators, artists, and small businesses, bringing new energy to one of Atlanta's oldest communities.
As storefronts open and local businesses put down roots, the investment extends beyond buildings. It's creating opportunity, supporting local entrepreneurs, and building a neighborhood designed to thrive long after the final whistle.
Have you visited the new South Downtown yet?

The final whistle isn't the end of the story. It's the beginning of the next chapter. As Atlanta welcomed Spain during @FIFAWorldCup, another milestone was already on the horizon: the @AtlantaFalcons taking the field in Madrid this November.
Business leaders, sports executives, and international partners gathered at Casa España in @sodowntownatl to celebrate the upcoming game and the growing relationship between metro Atlanta and Spain—one built on more than sport.
From trade and investment to tourism and cultural exchange, these moments continue to strengthen connections across the Atlantic and create new opportunities for collaboration.
The World Cup brought us together. Now, we're building on that momentum.
