Retired Colonel Ken Grundborg was unable to attend two graduation ceremonies at Georgia Tech due to active military service. Today, he walked across the stage at 88-years old.

Grundborg earned his bachelor’s degree in 1960 and his master’s in 1966 — both in civil engineering. He missed his ceremony when the @usarmy called him to serve his country. He spent 20 years with the Army Corps of Engineers, also serving in the 82nd Airborne Division, the Rangers, and the Pathfinders.

He earned a Bronze Star Medal, Legion of Merit, and Ranger Tab. Congratulations Ken! We’re glad you finally made it! 💛🎓🐝 🇺🇸 #GT26 #RamblinOn

Sri Addanki, Executive MBA 2026, flies 1,190 miles every weekend between Miami and Atlanta to attend class at Georgia Tech. He flies twice each weekend while balancing a demanding career, coursework, and life at home with a newborn daughter.

The Sept. 11 Memorial was designed by Georgia Tech alumnus Michael Arad, who witnessed the attacks from his Manhattan rooftop.

Georgia Tech now has a California Pizza Kitchen vending machine, bringing grab-and-go pizza straight to campus. Located on the first floor of Clough Commons, the temperature-controlled machine transforms frozen pizzas into hot meals in as little as 90 seconds.

The vending machine is available 24 hours a day. 🍕
