Husband, Father, Grandfather, Tech Procurement Leader, & Deacon at St Thomas More Catholic Church in the Roman Catholic Church in the Diocese of Austin
Dear Jesus, you suffered so that we might live. You bore the weight of our sins so that we might be free. You made all things new so that we might be healed. Help us to follow you, to trust in your plans, to be obedient to your Word and to make you Lord of our lives
@SECNAV Imagine what would have happened if your legal status were revoked similar to the refugees from Haiti and Syria right now. Your story is an inspiration and we need more like it
Dear Jesus, we can often allow the stain of sin to separate us from you as we suffer from spiritual leprosy. Help us to remember your mercy and to turn to you so that we might be made clean. Heal is of our sinful ways.
Dear Jesus, you are the only foundation that can hold us up when trials threaten us. Give us the wisdom, foresight, and strength we need to do what is right and good and to reject whatever is false and contrary to your will. May we be doers of your word and not hearers only.
Heavenly Father, you are the source of all creation and all that is good. Help us to remember that you made each of us individually out of love and with a purpose to glorify you in this earth. May we embrace our identity as your beloved children and trust in your divine plans.
Dear Jesus, we are tempted to fall in with the masses, seeking the path of least resistance and compromising our values to fit in & advance in this world. Help us see that the narrow path you lead us onto is the path to spiritual advancement, heavenly reward, and true peace.
Dear Jesus, give us the humility to admit mistakes, accept advice, and welcome rebuke. Help us to praise rather than criticize, sympathize rather than discourage, build rather than destroy, and see people at their best. Amen.
The perfect Father's Day message.
Pope Leo:
You’ve heard your whole life that God loves you.
But do you actually believe it?
You are precious in God’s eyes. You are unconditionally loved by Him.
Dear Jesus, help us to stand on the truth of Your Word with courage and conviction. May we trust that Your strength will protect and carry us through every trial we face on behalf of Your name and trust that Your divine plans are greater than any earthly tribulation.
Dear Jesus, we often feel torn between earthly treasures and Your eternal Word. Forgive us for letting worldly distractions crowd out our faith. Help us see that You are our greatest treasure. Guide our words and actions, and be the Master of every moment of our lives.
Most Rev. Daniel E. Garcia, Bishop of @AustinDiocese, reflects on Juneteenth, the day Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to announce the end of slavery more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
He addresses the painful legacy of slavery, often called America’s original sin, and the systemic racism that still casts its shadow today. He points to the opportunity Catholics have to recognize the inherent dignity of every person and to renew the commitment to racial justice, reconciliation, and peace.
Dear Jesus, shape our hearts so that we treasure the spiritual gifts that only you can offer over the false promises of worldly wealth and security. Fix our eyes and hearts on You and Your promises alone.
Dear Jesus help us to recognize the depth of your mercy & grace with us and to extend that same depth of mercy & grace to others. May we let go of all hurt & judgement and trust that your divine will is greater than our prideful desires for any sort of payback or worldly justice.
Dear Jesus, You are the only cure to our restless hearts. Unite us completely to you so that we might overflow with faith, live in hope, & act out of your pure love. May we live in your peace, trusting that no matter what we face, you are with us & will prevail in the end.
Dear Jesus, we can be selective with whom we love, focusing on those who reciprocate their feelings for us. Help us recognize that we are called to love all of your children, even those who hate us. May we rise above hatred & let your love prevail in all we say and do.
Dear Jesus, help us to be generous as you are generous. May we recognize that all gifts come from you and our given to us as tools to do your will. Expand our hearts so that we might love like you.
Dear Jesus, without you, we are nothing. Help us to recognize all of the divine grace and blessings you have bestowed on us in our lives. Give us a heart of gratitude and a heart of mercy so that we might in turn offer grace and blessings to all we encounter.
Dear Jesus, Set a watch upon our tongues, that we may never speak the cruel word which is not true; or being true, is not the whole truth; or being wholly true, is merciless; for the love of you, your Word, and your people. May we forever speak the truth in love.
Dear Jesus, help us to love like you and perfect your love within us. Pour out the infinite mercy of Your Sacred Heart upon us, so that our lives may become the visible reflection of Your invisible grace.
