COINBASE CEO: BITCOIN SLIDE IS TEMPORARY
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong says Bitcoin’s recent drop is driven more by psychology than fundamentals.
Speaking to CNBC at the World Liberty Forum in Florida, Armstrong dismissed theories tying the decline to Fed leadership speculation or quantum computing risks. He said investors are simply locking in gains and reacting to what they think others believe.
Armstrong called the downturn likely temporary, noting Coinbase is repurchasing shares and buying more Bitcoin at lower prices.
“Crypto goes up and down,” he said, adding that Bitcoin remains the best-performing asset of the past decade and that the company is focused on the long term.
