Ok here’s a thought. People always talk about the death of monoculture right? But what if monoculture simply shifted mediums? If you look at memes, tiktok slang etc (from 6-7 to looksmaxxing) the entire world is in moving in lockstep.
I kinda think there is MORE monoculture now.
When I walk into an event and every girl has the same nose and every guy has the same jaw, I’m sorry but im calling that a form of monoculture. Looks are culturally biased.
Maybe trying to find monoculture in music and films is just washed and short sighted, idk.
When you have fast food chains’ X accounts speaking in the same slang as 12 y.o kids who are copying tiktokers who are copying queer folks etc - that’s not a form of homogeneity??
