As someone who works closely with @AUJS, I’ve personally witnessed their tireless advocacy and the tremendous impact they’ve made for Jewish students in Australia. Mazel tov on winning the 2025 Student Union of the Year award at the @WUJS_official Congress—well deserved!
We stand in solidarity with the Jewish community in Melbourne following last night's arson attack on the Adass Israel Synagogue.
There must be zero tolerance for such heinous violence. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected, and with our sibling movement the @AUJS
"On october 7, I couldn't protect myself, I was powerless," Nova survivor David Bromberg said at an event with @AUJS and @dillerteenfllws in Melbourne, reflecting the helplessness felt by many Israelis that day.
The next day, he showed up for reserve duty.

From Monash to La Trobe, young students put their exams and papers on hold today to mark one year since October 7 by commemorating the victims of that horrific day and raising money for devastated communities in northern Israel.
Today, you are my heroes.
@AUJS
Today’s Senate Inquiry has highlighted Jewish students are pulling back from attending university because they do not feel safe or welcome.
This is a tragedy for all of us.
Universities must be places where all students are welcome.
I welcome today’s apology by Mark Scott regarding antisemitism at Sydney University.
As he admits, Sydney Uni has failed its Jewish students and staff.
Vice Chancellor Scott has committed to do better and for @Sydney_Uni to do better.
I expect him to deliver. @AUJS

We look forward to working with Jillian and the government to draw attention to the real lived experiences of Jewish students on campus and implement practical policies to combat antisemitism. 6/6
The creation of a Special Envoy to Combat Antisemitism is an integral part of combatting antisemitism across Australia and on campus.
We thank @joshburnsmp, @spenderallegra, @JulianLeeser and @zdaniel for advocating for the creation of this important role. 4/6
Since October 7th, universities across the country have become the epicentre of antisemitism in Australia.
For the first half of the year, Jewish students have faced unprecedented fear, intimidation and harassment, undermining the safety of students and social cohesion. 3/6
Jillian's appointment could not come sooner for Jewish students. Before October 7th, AUJS was already warning universities about the rise in antisemitism on campus. 2/6
AUJS and five other Jewish communal bodies are appalled by the University of Sydney's agreement with extremists, compromising campus safety and incentivising further disruption. We have lost confidence in their ability to protect Jewish students.
We continue to explore all options to ensure the safety and wellbeing of students and staff at the University of Sydney and stand ready to provide support and assistance to Jewish students and staff at the University, as well as those who now wish to leave the University.
ZFA President @jeremyleibler and @AUJS President Noah Loven wrote to @Sydney_Uni Vice-Chancellor and President @mscott about Hizb ut Tahrir at the University of Sydney and the safety concerns for Jewish students.
