The President of @ADCStweets Rachael Wardell is not telling the truth when she says that Tribunals don't have to consider resources or alternative provision in SEND Tribunals.
New transport survey for 16-19 year olds has launched! 📝
Transport to school and college is a hot topic – and under HUGE scrutiny, with the National Audit Office releasing a report at the end of October and the Public Accounts Committee (a body of MP’s tasked with scrutiny of public spending) carrying out an Inquiry now.
We’ve launched a short survey to find out more about transport for 16-19 year olds in England so that we can represent families’ experiences in our submission to the Inquiry, giving robust and up to date evidence.

Again and again, we are shocked by the treatment of learning-disabled people. Yet we never learn from the past | John Harris | The Guardian https://t.co/1tXOqcLC7e
@SpcialNdsJungle@educationgovuk Why is the government taking advice on how to fundamentally change the SEN system from Christine Lenehan? She has a social work/ social care consultancy background and is eminently unqualified. Perhaps it is because she tells them what they want to hear?
The Chancellor has confirmed there will be a schools white paper in autumn, which will include the Govt's plans for SEND reform. Constant rumours and speculation about what reform might look like is hugely unsettling for families. We urge the Govt to be clear on its intentions.
SEND tribunal judges told their services are no longer needed. For disabled, Deaf & neurodivergent children they are the only means of accountability and redress in a system that prevents resources reaching them to support them to learn. What's going on? https://t.co/SIajWvDqMt

@stevenmwright @sendagenda @SpcialNdsJungle @CutScenesUK You might want to ask her about her views on social care as they are pretty similar. Her views were given at the Garden Court Chambers webinar on 22 April and included the following: there fundamentally isn’t enough money, she doesn’t think the SEND tribunal should be involved..
@stevenmwright @sendagenda @SpcialNdsJungle @CutScenesUK And that she doesn’t think there will be a national eligibility criteria for social care as it is very difficult. This seems to ignore the fact that one exists for adults and that the Care Act is considered to be good law. The webinar will be made available online at some…
@stevenmwright @sendagenda @SpcialNdsJungle @CutScenesUK As she doesnt see why it is needed, that control should be given back to families without the need for statutory services (wrt direct payments) that there doesn’t need to be a separate framework for disabled children, which is what is being considered by the Law Commission…
